Pet Peeve parents who take their kids to the parks in pajamas

This has always been a big pet peeve of mine as you see it so much, the I see a Disney site where someone posted a tip to "put your kids in their pajamas before heading out to the parks for the evening" and I just had to vent. Am i the only one who thinks this is stupid on so many levels? First, pajamas are to sleep in not for going outside in. Second, your going to drag your kid around in the Florida heat and humidity and just go back to the room and put their nasty little selves to bed without bathing them? Third its teaching your kids to be lazy and be slobs. Ok rant over just wondering if I am alone in my opinion?

I agree with you.

But Disney obviously doesn't.

Personally, I wish every day was Dapper Day.

People just don't know how to dress themselves anymore.

And if I go to the parks and see just one more flabby buttcheek hanging haphazardly out of homemade cutoff short-shorts, I am going to freaking puke.

I do. I usually shower in the AM before work and then either after I workout or right before bed. In summer, I always shower twice when it is super hot. Personally, when I am at DW it is way too hot and humid for me not to. Plus, you should always shower before and after using the pool. Not saying all 3 showers in a day are full showers, but I do take 2-3 a day depending on the weather and where I am at.
Of course the pool or working out or doing yard work or something is different. What's the point of showering right before bed and again right when you wake up (assuming your sheets are clean)?

That's not how this works. People form private opinions of others in their own heads. I'm overweight. If someone sees me, they'd probably think "that guy probably eats too much and doesn't really exercise." They'd be right. That doesn't mean it's appropriate to go up to someone and say "hey you big fat fatty... why are you so fat?"
So, that is what YOU think though? You think everyone is so very quick to judge you based solely on your outer appearance that you stand by what they believe or say? Just because they believe it and say it, doesn't make it true. That's just what they believe from their perception and their cognitive abilities. Very closed minded.

If people are unable to look at more than appearances, they don't get to see the greatness in a lot of things unfortunately.

Edit: I mean take Walt Disney for example. While others saw swamp land, he saw a world.

That's not what I said, at all.

Of course lots of things matter a hell of a lot more than appearance. But that doesn't mean that appearance matters zero.

So, going back to my original question to you. If you met someone like me who has tattoos, piercings, what would you think?
How the hell should I know? I've never, in fact, met you.

I get what you're going for here. You're doing the routine that you wouldn't dare judge somebody based on their appearance. I call BS. You say you have tattoos. What would you think if you met someone who had tattoos... of giant genitalia, right on their face?

Geezus dude. I wanted a genuine answer. "You like me, hate me." That's it. I was genuinely curious.

Edit: Sorry, but I wasn't asking you out as an attack. I have met people in my life who have looked at me once and decided, "Oh this such and such is low-life" and others have said quite the opposite. I'm an observer, not an opinion fighter.

Actually, he saw cheap land that he could buy up at extremely low prices under dummy corporations. Florida also wasn't his original plan, as he had looked at land along the east coast, including locations near Savannah and Charleston.
(and if you were to believe the urban legend, between Baton Rouge and New Orleans along the 10/12 Corridor, although there is no actual evidence for this except for the fact that Walt's plane landed in New Orleans on November 21, 1963 to refuel.)

Plus, Walt Disney probably never encountered something like this:

That's enough internet for me today. I'm going to go hop on my bike and do a few miles.

And then a 36 hour water-only fast.

It helps wake me up. I have to be up at 3:30am so taking a shower helps me get energized. I just like feeling clean all the time. I usually also workout within 3 hours of bedtime, so it just works out better for me, too. Plus I just run hot and even when a fan is on all night I just feel better getting in my clothes and going to work 100% fresh and clean. Different strokes for different folks.

I will say on a weekday where I just go to work and don't get a chance to workout I usually just shower in the morning before I go to work. But on weekends or any other time, it's twice a day - mornings and evenings.

Meh, people enjoy their vacations the way they want. As long as they aren't cutting in lines or doing other obnoxious stuff, I really couldn't care less about what they or their kids wear.

Who showers twice a day? That's extraordinarily wasteful.

Everyone does..or at least most. I call BS on anyone who says that appearance doesn’t matter at all, and they never judge.

Does everyone let their teenage son leave for a dinner date in sneakers, basketball shorts, and a ball cap?

Does everyone let their daughters leave the house with their bums and other body parts hanging out?

Dunno if it’s been said (because I’m not going to go through 20 pages of the back and forth), but if you’re wanting to avoid the PJ police, I recommend dresses (maxis are practically as comfortable as pajamas) and athleisure wear (daytime pajamas).

You’re welcome. :joyfull:

PERSONAL CHECKLIST AND HOW TO GET JUDGED IN THIS THREAD
Wears cargo shorts sometimes...check!
Has tattoos...check!
Has multiple piercings...check!
Showers twice a day...check!

Only thing missing from my list is wearing PJs to the parks. I'm not really willing to try that one though.

I have a serious question though. If Disney did a overnight slumber party for the parks one night, say from midnight to 6am and actually encouraged guests to show up in PJs for this special ticketed event - would many on here be vehemently opposed to that idea?
