All I have to say is I remember looking at the parking lot and thinking "MAN, I wish I had $12 for every car in these lots!". One day of MK's parking receipts would pay for a serious vacation...

I had heard a rumor that Valet Parking at the hotels was going up as well, now it kind of makes sense since they wouldn't want it too much more cost effective to Valet at a hotel instead of using the Theme Park parking.

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere but the valet parking increase is confirmed and begins tomorrow October 11. Valet parking is now $12 per day additionally valet parking is no longer complimentary for DVC members.

so thats how they settled the concept of no free valet at the DVC units at grand california in cali... remove it from DVC at WDW... I would bet there will be a revolt.

EVERYTHING has gone up at WDW lately

But they recently raised Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars from $2.50 to $3.25.

Actually the price of EVERY ice cream went up about 30%. Also pretty much ALL food offerings at WDW went up at least 20% all over from kid's meals (now $4.99) to sit-down meals (over $30 for dinner at Crystal Palace)...I guess it is how Disney is covering the cost of the Dining Plan savings. Like they did about 6 years ago when they lowered the kids age from 12 to 9 to finance letting Annual Passholders (or was it all Floridians?) purchase the Disney Dining Experience (now Wonderland).

As far a parking fees go, Disney usually FOLLOWs and copies the parking fees of Universal and Sea World, so I imagine that they upped their parking fees earlier this year.

This was Wizz Poor jouranalism.

There is no attempt to show a person on the street that is not upset by the hike. The sound bites are from people that are not anywhere near the parks. They are at gas stations -- without green signs (HESS).

He fed the interviewees soundbites for them to repeat to produce a totally bias piece.

The only non-biased part was the quote from WDW Media Relations that stated what many of us have stated -- parking is still free for passholders and resort guests. The guy kept pounding how terrible the increase would be. HE FED THE COLUMBUS DAY BITE TO THE PERSON DIRECTLY!!!

Journalists suck. And you Mr. D'Marko are solid proof.

Be objective for once and report the news, not your oversensationalized propaganda.
