News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

There are a number of large backstage buildings - about the size of Midway Mania's show building or a bit larger. One of them is parade storage IIRC.

This space outlined is more than what Mystic Manor uses. There'd be plenty of space for a nice ride back here.

doesn't a boat track need more room than a trackless or omnivore track?
I wonder gif they can adapt the Shanghai pirates track system to smaller boats. Would be great to use that technology for this ride and Avatar

My impression is space required: Trackless > Boat > Omnimover

I think a trackless ride, or at least as implemented the way Disney has chosen to for Runaway Railway, Rise of the Resistance and Rat-a-Tuah, needs the most space. Mystic Manor seems to be more compact

Omnimover is definitely the most compact

For Coco, I'm expecting we'll see the boat systems used for Tangled, Tokyo's Frozen and Na'Vi river journey. Concept art is obviously subject to change but it looks like 3 rows of 2-3 people.

A smaller boat vehicle would allow for tighter turns and a more compact footprint, but less capacity. Maybe they can use smaller boats dispatched almost continuously to approximate an omnimover on water

I wouldn’t be shocked if there is no drop but I also haven’t seen anything indicating that there won’t be. Unless you think the small boats do that?

I think they could absolutely do a small drop with that ride technology. Off the top of my head I'm not 100% sure if any of the other rides have drops:

Tangled - no
Na'Vi River Journey - no

Tokyo's Frozen - I think this is a slightly bigger vehicle, but this has a few drops right?
Hong Kong's Frozen - believe this is also 4 rows instead of 3 and has a drop

True although I’m not sure if those examples are very telling. One is a tunnel of love ride and the other they were going for a peaceful type of experience… that probably could have benefited from a drop. Then the Frozen rides are “clones” of a ride (Maesltrom) that had drops. So we’re kind of in no man’s land with no real recent good examples to pull from.

Hoping for at least a small drop. Would be thrilled with a drop as big as the first drop on DL’s POTC.

I would be highly disappointed if to have no drop. I think Coco needs that thrill like Pirates of the Caribbean. I’ll take one drop. Otherwise I rather be using trackless.

I would be disappointed as well but can’t say I’d rather it be trackless. Suspended yes. I think a lot of people might be disappointed if Disney keeps comparing it to Haunted Mansion and POTC. I don’t expect it to be on that scale but rather borrow some of the effects and Mimic the tone of those attractions.

Not for Coco, but I'm still hoping we get a Mystic Manor type of trackless attraction for DCA/DLForward.

I’d love to see a suspended omnimover utilized for whatever their next dark ride might be IP wise. Would have great capacity and could feel like floating a la Peter Pan

Hopefully the Pirate comparison applies for drop inclusion as well…

Agreed - would love to see them take the best ideas from Mystic Manor, Runaway Railway and Rise of Resistance in the new DLForward plots
