Are you talking about losing the totality of the experience of TOT? Or was there something else that was lost that I'm not remembering?MB sticks out like a sore thumb from everywhere including the esplanade. TOT wasn’t beautiful but as you say it kind of blended in instead of saying “look at me!” The only redeeming quality I find with GOTG:MB is the randomized drops but even that is a mixed bag because I don’t find any of the profiles as thrilling as TOTs one ride profile. That’s without even getting into the everything lost.
I disagree that TOT was more thrilling; it might have been a more thought out sequence that was more satisfying as a result, but I would say MB clearly is the best Disney drop tower worldwide in terms of thrills. It DOES call more attention to itself though, much like the facade, in a way that is definitely more superficial than TOT.
My experience at Lamplight Lounge was tarnished by the $20, massively overhyped Lobster Nachos. I've never been so disappointed by a single food item in my life!
