finally went back to resort yesterday.
went to DCA to get a fastpass for incredicoaster and they were all out. the standby was at 125 minutes. decided to go to lamplight lounge to have cocktails and sushi.
great drinks and tasty rolls.
spent some time enjoying the park and went back at 8:30 to get on coaster at 45 minute wait.
more later
i was actually surprised that the simple makeover does actually make the queue feel different and not as bland as before. the new loading area roof looks pretty cool, wish they had eliminated one of the billboard walls to allow a better view of the building as you walk over bridge.
speaking of the billboards the area seems to be a huge hit with people lining up to take pictures with then especially the coco one. if inly they built a ride they would know they would have a huge hit.
tried the num num cookies and people are right, they are super delicious as they come out warm from oven. they are big to so price wise not bad.
talked to some people eating the chicken and they said it was not good at all but the angry dogs seem to be a hit.
i had never see the midway games so busy with people. Also noticed lots and lots of midway games prizes all over the place and people seem to be going crazy for the Pixar merchandise. I did noticed quite a bit tourist yesterday many families from china in a student exchange school program. They had been staying here for several days and heading to new York next on Sunday.
Also met a father and son the Pal-a-round from China as well and was surprised to find out they had spent most of their day in the pier. It was already late and they hadn't seen half of the park but had ridden incredicoaster five times.
of course I ended up giving them a tour and we rode the rest of the paradise park rides, RSR and MB. They enjoyed RSR but wanted to ride MB again.
back to my ride on incredicoaster later in the day at around 8:30.....
have to admit that I enjoyed it, the soundtrack is exhilarating. The show scenes even though not anything to brag about were fun. The best show scene was the projection tunnel.
young people seem to enjoy all the babies on a stick and even kept talking about them after the ride for some reason.
I missed most of them as you only get glimpse of them because of the speed of the coaster The flashing lights at night do help in creating the perceived visual that they are appearing and disappearing. The effect seems to work at night better than during the day
oh by they way, I was worried that i would see the babies on stick while walking the pier but you really can’t.
this is another one of those things where people take pictures of things really zoomed in and give the wrong impression.
so if you were like me and hated what i saw in pictures with the babies, it is not as bad it it looked on pictures.
overall i still see issues with areas of the pier but they seem to continue adding props and visuals. overall the change makes the pier feel more colorful and sorry to say more lively.
I really wish though that they would put the Inside out spinner on hold and go back to adding a nice ride there. the helix seem big enough for something more
