If this is true it's not very surprising. I'm more surprised an entire family bought tickets for it.

peeps standing in a line that stretches to long beach waiting for popcorn buckets -
does it not make perfect sense to prod these people for fleece-point?

more than mere s.o.p, it's ingrained - and for a long time now

getting a little close with this pier business, however...
harder to back-pedal and play the peoples champion by having heeded feedback when your reach was egregious to begin with

national articles don't help, either

22 bucks for a burger is reasonable.

Oh wait. No it isn't.

To be fair that's the same price they been charging for a burger at Cathay Circle since it opened. I remember how ridiculous at the time it seem but AFAIK that is still the same price so if enough people are buying it for that price there they probably think they can get away with it here too. For the record I tried it once at CC and I honestly couldn't tell you the difference between that one and most $10 burgers you buy at the resort.

From someone who did go to school for marketing... You wouldn’t want to open both at the same time. If you did you would be pulling attention from the other. It’s best to focus on one thing. Heck, if it were up to me I would have put a couple more weeks between them to help push the movie after it’s been out for a few weeks.

Hmm. I could buy into that if Incredibles 2 was only available in theaters that were located between Ventura and San Diego. But Incredibles 2 opened in theaters last Friday in all 50 states, plus Canada. DCA pulls in on the busiest of days 40,000 people per day. Even if every single person that went to DCA this past weekend then refused to go to the movies, that's a drop in the bucket compared to the more than 1 Million people who just paid for a ticket for Incredibles 2 this weekend from Maine to Oregon and from Idaho to Florida.

Exactly. You wouldn’t want one to cannibalize the other. (In this case opening weekend box office #s!)

Again, even if you had a rule that said that anyone who went to Disneyland Resort that weekend was then forbidden from visiting any movie theater showing Incredibles 2 from Ventura to San Diego the same weekend, I can't imagine you'd even make a noticeable dent on DCA attendance for the weekend.

The late opening date aside, there seems to be a missed opportunity to tout the new Incredibles E Ticket with a featurette during the showing of the Incredibles movie. I don't think playing the lazy Pixar Pier commercial they slapped together with three year old B Roll footage that shows nothing and some Intern-created CGI art shouldn't count as "Synergy".
