Um, having the Disney name stamped everywhere is already corporate self-worship that Walt started. They have his image everywhere already, again corporate self-worship. Since the man is dead we don’t know how he’d feel about it today.

Also how is Lincoln not creepy and morbid then? Or for that matter any of the presidents who are dead depicted in the Hall of Presidents? Or any other AA depicting a real life person, how is that not creepy?

I just think it’d be interesting and cool to see if it could be pulled off. Now whether the Disney family or the company would actually do it or not is another completely different conversation which is not needed to be had.

I have to agree with a lot of this. This is a guy who made a TV show highlighting Disneyland starring himself lol. Of course there is nothing wrong with that but clearly he had no problem with everyone associating the park with him. He called the place Disneyland for god sakes.

Exactly. The man was a self promoter. I have a feeling that John Hench story was overblown and taken out of context. Maybe Walt didn’t like the bust because it was a bad depiction. Who knows. That was also what 60+ years ago.

The entire park is literally built around his life, interests and accomplishments lol. I mean maybe 'self worship' is a little strong but yeah it was promoting himself as a brand. How could you not see it any other way?

It was as would the proposed Walt AA. I guess I don’t understand your question in relation to my post.

I agree, having a statue is already putting his image out there and is no different than an AA. For me its more the question on if they can build an AA that looks as close to his image as possible. Its more technological curiosity then an actual want.

What Disney needs is a robot rebellion.

Went Saturday to go shopping for a friend I’m going to be visiting in Norway and got to see the construction again.

Things are looking good, the new colillas in the bandstand look amazing and the facade is nice and tall which now hides some of the ugly coaster supports.

I’m dissapointed in the stilll to be fixed light all over the coaster and I’m sad to say that Midway Mania has large sections of bulbs not working or missing. Some sections have older bulbs too so let’s hope they are walking around checking this and getting them fixed.

Also it is amazing to see how terribly bad the carousel looks now. With all the new paint around the grungy look of the carousel is more visible. It looks disgusting. If they are going to have a press event they need to completely cover it until it’s done.
The coaster looks great on the eastern section, I’m not sure what their plan is but they left all the gold fan decors that hide the supports. I would have hope they change them or paint them. It also looks like some sunburst will stay gold. Weird choice

There is genuine concern over what will or won’t be finished in three weeks. I saw some pictures from today, and those seem to be valid concerns. Looking forward to the Pixar Pier Premiere!!!

$299 per person, and they give you a glue gun and a box of trim pieces, while WDI interns keep the snack bar samples under guard until you finish.
