News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

I'm in the exact same situation (April 25 - May 1).

I'm honestly getting a little frustrated. This is supposed to be my first trip to DLR and likely the only one before having any kids. It sounds like the big attractions at Paradise Pier will be closed. But now World of Color sounds like it might be closed and there is a potential Pirates of the Carribean closure looming. The whole reason I picked the dates I did was because it was past Spring Break and Paint the Night would be running again. I could accept California Screamin' being down and have been hoping that maybe, just maybe, Mickey's Fun Wheel would at least be back in operation. I know there is still plenty to keep me busy but its still a little disappointing. We purposely decided to go to WDW again last year instead of DLR because of the closures related to SWL.
Spring Break/late march Saturdays and summer are the best times to visit DLR. This summer not included because it is being overrun with Pixar Fest. Super excited for Remember...Dreams Come True to return in February but only for a few months!
If you're avoiding spring break because of crowds, you don't need to because peak pricing and blockouts handles that. My disney OCD is pretty extreme and I live relatively close. I don't do seasonal overlays and I'm not a fan of weekdays without fireworks so I basically can't visit from September to January. I'm happy that mansion is back to normal, but now I'm avoiding construction walls on main street and the blacked out lights on space mountain before the lift. Everyone complained that not EVERY SINGLE BLUE PANEL was lit so rather than fixing the burnt out bulbs, the ride is running without any lights in that tunnel at all. Screamin being down is throwing me off of DCA as well. I love Soarin, my friends like being able to drink at the park, and I loved tower but I'm not a fan of guardians. Carsland is almost worth the ticket price just to walk through from pacific wharf but the ride isn't the best. That park [desperately] needs a mystic manor and/or a boat ride. SO, without screamin its looking less and less logical to go to DCA when you can drink in downtown disney.

If this makes you feel any better, I really think WoC is overrated. It's spectacular but kinda soulless. And screamin's a great coaster, but it can't hold a candle to any major steel coaster in FL. And there's a reason the "Fun" Wheel has vomit bags in each cabin.

You'll still have all of Cars Land, DL's amazing and ride-stuffed Fantasyland, Indy, and tons more unique to DLR. You probably won't even miss the Pier.

And, seriously, if you have time, consider a day at Knott's to experience their wonderful Ghost Town, Calico Mine and world's-best Log Ride. Plus the new HangTime coaster if it's open by then.

I know this is dumb, but I'm sad the Dumbo game is movin out.

My son won a Dumbo and my daughter won two Timothy Mouses and shared one with a little kid that lost.

Basically, anything my kids have touched should be untouchable.
I'm going to miss those three booths paying tribute to classic hand-drawn animation-- Including Casey at the Bat! What are the odds of that great short film ever getting a mention at DLR again?

Don't know about DLR...but at least in Orlando and Paris, they still have Casey's Corner on Main St.!

Will be interesting to see what the refurbished World Of Color looks like. Hopefully they make the fire jets more consistent and implement the smoke jets around the viewing area into the normal show.

I thought that was going to be entrance to a new spinner someday.

Dash's Speed Force

They should have moved the incredicoaster queue to that wasted helix space. It’s big enough for a circular two story structure. A bridge from the building to the existing upper level queue would have fit nicely.
Then the existing ugly queue could have been removed for a spinner maybe even a relocated carousel or a good fast food location or sitting area.

That updated art doesn’t show the carousel covered anymore. It shows the same roof just new color

From what I can tell, the original artwork was still the same roof with a new color -- just no swirly metal thing on top like we currently have. In the new artwork, it seems like they decided to also keep the swirly thing along with the new roof paintjob.
