DL will not have F! (opens summer) and might not have a firework (FITS on weekends) show beginning next year as well as PTN (refurb). 3 entertainment offerings down in DL. What will keep the crowds in? MSEP.
WDW fans have it coming, they get excited over cupcakes, so thats what they will get.

Yeah, this. There's no need for a night parade at WDW because people visit whatever, they don't care about things being cut, prices increased, or what used to be there. Within a few years everyone will have forgotten there used to be parades, so getting rid of it is a nice money saver. Call us when attendance drops, they'll say.
Let's remember that some WDW fans can't eat cupcakes.

Or stored Spectromagic properly so that it would not deteriorate beyond repair (at least that's the OFFICIAL story).

I remember how good Spectromagic looked during it's final year in 2010. Especially since they updated the Spectromen to be easier to see.
I STILL don't understand why they let it rot away. In fact, I'll never understand.
As I understand it, it wasn't meant to be stored that long. When the refurb was scrapped it wasn't moved.
Gotcha - too bad Disneyland didn't demand MSEP back sooner since it might have actually forced WDW to not scrap the refurb. Alas, we can only pine for what might have been since it's never coming back.

I was assuming some kind of shot at a higher rate of Dia-Beetuz amongst WDW guests

Not to say there's a direct correlation to MSEP moving, but it certainly seems like DL is making a lot of entertainment/parade changes lately.

Sure PTN would be a nice stand in, but that allows TDO wait and not have a new parade ready to go until the 50th. If DL holds firm and keeps both parades that should force TDO to green light a new parade for spring or summer 2017.
