The only way that Disney could make it better would be to wrap it in bacon!

I wonder if they had displayed the first version of the Confederate Flag, which flew for the majority of the life of the Confederacy, instead of the final one adopted later, if people would even notice or care?

Somehow I doubt it.
The official State Flag or Georgia from 1956 - 2001:

Changed in 2003 ( and rightfully so) to:

The Current Official Georgia State Flag:

Improvement? Anyone notice?

We've cultivated a grievance-class in our society consisting of people who cannot feel satisfied unless it is waging a mighty rebellion against some perceived injustice. And when there are no longer injustices to wage war against, then they will manufacture one ... and then another ... and then another ... because without the battle in front of them, they cannot feel fulfilled. It is completely lost on them that these "rebels" have become most obedient authoritarians in the country's history. The politicians are complicit because they know that those citizens with a predilection to vote for them, do so in much greater volume when they perceive themselves as participants in a rebellion. This flag debate is manufactured, just like the Redskins football team name was before it, and just like some other nonsense issue will be two months from now.

In early 80s, the Dukes of Hazzard was considered the cleanest, most wholesome version of family entertainment we had on TV. And EVERYBODY watched it (#2 show in America in 1981). NOBODY considered it racist, or that it was utilizing racist imagery, or that it was something to be shunned, or that people were racist for wanting to watch it. And there's a really good reason ... it wasn't racist.

30 years later? It's so abhorrent that it needs to be pulled from the store shelves and can't be aired in repeats. Why? Because an unfortunately large enough segment of society literally has nothing better to do in their lives than to manufacture outrage at a new target because the old target isn't as fulfilling anymore. And this grievance-class is predominantly from the northern coasts and HATES southerners, so they make a great target - needling and talking-down to southerners is fun sport for the coastal elites in NYC, DC, LA and SF (and believe me I know, I grew up in NYC, went to high school and to college in the northeast, etc). They are utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief or opinion.

Disappointing, but it's been coming for decades.

EDIT:
In hopes of fulfilling my lifelong dream of posting the most racist thing ever to appear on a Disney fan board, I will post this photo of a TV Guide from 1980. Make sure you don't look at it at work because I don't want anyone to get in trouble. And for heaven's sake, don't let any children look at it, they might be scarred for life!

EDIT #2:
Oh no! They got to the children:

I just thought of something else....

Six Flags must now change their name to Five Flags in order to be politically correct.

One Little Spark...
You noticed?! That's the one that cost Governor Roy Barnes his re-election in 2002......many thought he was going to make a run for the White House before he lost his re-election bid to Sonny Perdue (Perdue was a life long Democrat before switching parties shortly before that election)
I remember.

<--lived in GA and was voting age during all that.
