Sonic's Green Hill Zone Resort
green_hill_zone_by_wilustra-d8w65du.jpg

Spinballing into Universal Resort Orlando is Sonic's Green Hill Zone Resort, obviously based on Sonic the Hedgehog, bringing to life the palm trees, looping hills, and colourful sights and sounds of the 1991 video game's opening zone to life, based entirely around a large oasis (i.e. a giant swimming pool), with the hotel having two major restaurants, gyms, huge Sega arcades, etc..

The hotel is thematically split in two, both sides having six floors each; Sonic's side is more naturalistic and beachy, with huge palm trees, the Green Hill Zone's unique loops and hills making up the buildings, with numerous hotel rooms designed after Sonic and friends, so Sonic's rooms are rather laidback and beachy, Tails' have a sky theme and resemble a workshop or a plane hangar, Knuckles the Echidna's have a jungle, tribal, Aztec design, Amy Rose's are more urban and homely with an emphasis on the colour pink and her devotion to Sonic, Big the Cat's rooms are simplistic in design and made from the forest (lots of wood), and Shadow the Hedgehog's is both futuristic and militaristic at the same time.

The other hand of the resort was designed by Dr. Robotnik, who is an evil genius, but also has a flair for design, using sleek metallic colours of silver, grey, red, black, and yellow, with each room mostly dedicated to his own brilliance, but also his many robotic creations.

Bonus - The Muppets' Happiness Hotel - While perhaps not as rundown as its movie counterpart, the Muppets' Happiness Hotel is small and cozy, and sporting the classic brand of Muppet humour, like a crashed motorbike hanging out of the ceiling, the kitchen is run by rats, Miss Piggy has the best suite in the hotel (of course), and there are nightly performances from the Electric Mayhem.
I really like Sonic, however, since they are getting Nintendo, I feel like a Nintendo Hotel would have been better than Sonic, since it would requiere making a whole deal just for it, nevertheless it sounds like a fun hotel that would be ideal for a family vacation so props for that!

Bonus: A Muppets Hotel is the best idea! :D

Universal's Waturi Bay Resort (Prime Value)
View attachment 298978

Coming to Universal Orlando in 2020, alongside Dockside Inn, will be a new prime value hotel next to Volcano Bay, called Universal's Waturi Bay Resort.

The new resort will continue the story of the Waturi exploring the seas, and they end up at a small beachside inn, which they then claim as their own; the hotel is directly next to Volcano Bay, with walking access to the park; you will also get the usual perks of staying at a hotel, plus TapuTapu, so you don't have to wait to get it when you reach the entrance.

The 1,920 room resort will feature a luau show, poolside tiki bar, a highly themed restaurant called Lava Rocks, and more; the hotel will also offer two pools, one set for little kids, and another set for the big boys and girls; the last big thing is, they both include waterslides!!

Bonus:
In Walt Disney World, Disney's Asian Resort will be brought back up to the drawing board, but this time, construction will begin; it'll be located in the space between the Contemporary and the Transportation and Ticket Center, with monorail access.
Whoa, this is a really good idea, as it enhances the backstory of the park, and ads value to it in a way, it would have a great view, and would be located in a good place, for me this really works! Amazing work, keep it up!

Bonus: Creative! +1

Hotel Transylvania

After difficulty in rebooting Universal's Monsters shared universe, Universal decided to go with a more successful -- and family friendly -- shot at this public domain franchise with licensing Hotel Transylvania from Sony for their theme parks.

This new resort is an over-the-top themed deluxe that takes the decor of The Haunted Mansion in a cartoony fun direction and is located near the new gate that promises to have similarly highly-themed lands, such as Nintendoland.

Throughout the day, kids will see the silly monsters check-in and out and may even pose for pictures.

Sanctum Sanctorum Resort

Stay in Doctor Strange's mystic mansion in which all sorts of illusions (practical, screen, trippy projections) take place all around you!

This would probably be a huge success, it’s family friendly, highly themed, and would probably be able to rival the Star Wars Hotel, I’m a big fan of immersive experiences, and this is definitely that! Great Work!

Bonus: The One Marvel IP they can use! Great Work! +1

CHALLENGE 10
EPCOT CENTER
epcot-gallery-00.jpg

-Background Information-
It's no secret that Epcot is getting a major overhaul, due to the fact that in a way it has become the remnants of what it used to be. And one of the areas that seems to be receiving a lot work is World Showcase, as it will be getting a Ratatouille Trackless Dark Ride (D-Ticket), a rumored Mary Poppins C-Ticket, the Gondola Transportation System, the Brazil Pavilion, and a New Show.

-Challenge-
As part of the Major Overhaul coming to Epcot, Disney wants you to design a brand new E-Ticket attraction for World Showcase in time for the park's 40th anniversary. They want this attraction to remind people of what EPCOT CENTER used to stood up for, while still feeling intrinsically Disney!

-Bonus-
Design a World Showcase style area as a Citywalk 2.0 for the rumored Third Gate.

-Rules-
You may use between 1 and 3 sentences and up to 1 image/1 video. For the bonus you may use 1 sentence. The deadline is Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 10:59PM EST

-Judging Criteria-
Is it creative?
Does it accomplishes everything within the challenge guidelines?
Is it realistic?

-Reminders-
This prompt will be a points prompt. As a reminder, everyone who submits something as well as follows the rules will get 1 point. 3 awards are given for each challenge. The three awards are Bronze (+1 points), Silver (+2 points), and Gold (+3 points). Additionally, everyone who answers the Bonus receives an extra point.

Bullet Train through Japan
ea43ddefea841fcf208d35c6c95d5583.jpg

The once-abandoned concept shall resurface at EPCOT in 2022, where you will walk into a Bullet Train, simulating a trip through Japan's sights. However, this train is a little bit magical, you will see pieces of Japanese culture, ride through a bustling night in Tokyo, and be put next to Tokyo Disneyland Resort. But towards the end, the train will fly, and you will fly right next to Mount Fuji, afterwards, you will come face-to-face with icons of Japanese pop-culture; Godzilla, Totoro, Optimus Prime, when you fly back to the station, you will hear an original song, "The Wonders of Culture."

Bonus: The International Marketplace will be a new area in "Fantastic Worlds" or whatever the park will be called, where you will walk past several stands, each representing it's own country, selling food, toys, and clothes from that country, and each stand is run by a character from an IP set in that country.

Stewie and Brian's time travel trip.
images

To bring in grown ups to Epcot, compete with Universal's springfield area, and because anything goes now because the incredibles 2 has the c word in it, Disney decided to create a motion simulator in the America pavilion starring characters from the hit show Family Guy. Join Stewie and Brian as they time travel to try to catch Stewie's toy Rupert, before the existence of the toy in a timeline it shouldn't be in breaks all of history. It will feature hidden adult jokes so kids can enjoy it, and a familiar IP so adults can enjoy it, making it "perfect" for the whole family!
BONUS: Freedom Way will feature many kiosks themed to different eras of American history and will be swapped out depending on what is now considered nostalgic during the time (for instance now it would be 80s and it will be swapped in the future for 00s).

Sahara Desert Adventure
image-497262-860_poster_16x9-vkav-497262.jpg

Coming to Epcot in 2022, a new E-ticket attraction will open in the Morocco Pavilion using the same ride system as "Dinosaur" in Animal Kingdom while using edutainment to teach guests about the deserts of Africa and the culture of Morocco while on a high-speed thrill ride.

As you wander through the queue of this attraction through a Moroccan village, you begin to hear about Moroccan folk tales by Mama Kadhaab (meaning storyteller in Arabic), who tells you the ancient folk tale titled "The Girl Who Lives with Gazelles" before you go on your desert tour vehicle to the Sahara Desert while encountering many aspects of that moroccan folk tale as well as many cultural experiences of the country of Morocco.

Your adventure includes driving through the country and the desert learning about the culture of the country and the many aspects, including oasis, caravans, and more of the desert as well as encountering many native wildlife and the importance of family in Moroccan culture, before encountering the tribe of Gazelles and getting caught on a high-speed ride on rough terrain through the desert trying to escape the tribe while making it out of the desert, with a reference to Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland at the end of the attraction.

Bonus: Experience the wonders and beauty of Europe while strolling down streets recreating famous places of Europe, including the bavarian villages of Germany, the piazzas of Italy, the Parisian architecture of France, the islands of Greece, the alps of Switzerland, the city streets of London and the fjords of Scandinavia, while also featuring a new train connecting Universal's new resort to the current resort.

Mulan's Adventure through China
1533051973201.jpeg
Epcot is a lot about culture and technology which could get both get infused using a ride system but showing the Chinese culture with Mulan's Adventure through China which takes guests on adventure through Mulan's Journey of becoming a warrior.

This ride system is like the old Beastly Kingdom ride that is suspended in the air which has the use of screens and AAs which the ride starts off Mulan and her two sidekicks are walking up a mountain while you are going up then you go down a drop while you I'll make a man out of you with the movie scene playing around you, thirdly you go around a corner to see and Shan Yu AA which you start to go fast while the fight scenes are happening, and last but not least, you see Mulan, Mushu, and Cri-Kee all waving in front of China where people are cheering them on.

The queue will show Chinese culture that Epcot shows in the World Showcase and have great use of IP which Disney loves using in their parks.
Bonus: Welcome to the Worldwide Plaza ,new shopping plaza, that includes many countries around the world that have food and activites you can do all around the plaza!

The Legends of Penglai
33688665603_75ca901e0a_b.jpg

Like a mix of Maelstrom and Mystic Manor, The Legends of Penglai replaces Reflections of China, a gentle boat ride through the myths, legends, and folklore of China, through the mythical land of Penglai. Guests enter through the ruins of the Summer Palace, before boarding traditional Chinese boats and venturing down a river, where a talking panda cub, Zhuxiong, guides guests through the realm of gods, heroes, and dragons, with all of the animatronics stylised after Chinese artwork.

The palace is magically restored, as guests venture through it and into the otherworldly countryside of Penglai, encountering the Eight Immortals, the twelve animals of the Zodiac, the infamous Terracotta Army that come alive to pay tribute to their Emperor, and then the Monkey King, who uses his powers of the elements to send the river itself to the stars, passing by the Moon where the Jade Rabbit guards the elixir of life, before the boats sail back to land on a sea of stars, encountering the Four Symbols of the constellations (Vermilion Bird, Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Black Tortoise), with a finale paying homage to Disney's take on Mulan.

Bonus - Coming to or with the hypothetical third gate at Universal Studios Florida, is The Troll Market, a European food market that takes inspiration from fairy tales and folklore, as exemplified in its food and merchandise.

AMERICAN INGENUITY
A triumphant celebration of the working class, great innovators, and the country's storied history, American Ingenuity is the newest addition to the American pavilion and an exciting steel roller coaster where guests become visitors to the Institute of American Ingenuity, as the brilliant but eccentric Professor Enterprise is showing off her new time machine, which they'll get to witness after walking through a queue that shows the mechanics of important inventions and allows guests to interact with them.

Enterprise shows off the sleek time machine (trains split up into four rows that each have two seats), and surprises guests by telling them that they'll be the first to test it, while she guides them from the institute using speakers on the machine, before the guests board it and go through a swirling tunnel-like portal, where they watch as Benjamin Franklin captures lightning with a rod, a storm coming down all around them that rocks the trains, weave outside to race a train on the First Transcontinental Railroad, and travel further to watch George Washington Carver's experiments inside a greenhouse (the smell of freshly made peanut butter and sweet potato pie around them).

They eventually arrive at a steel mill, with Enterprise commenting that she meant to bring them back to the Institute, before realizing that the machine is malfunctioning and won't bring them back to the base unless it's fixed, which prompts her to nervously tell the visitors that they'll have to hold tight while she does some repairs...although things seem fine at first, guests see a vat of hot lava swinging above them before it pours down, heat filling the room while it approaches the visitors - luckily, Enterprise fixes the machine in time, creating a portal for them, which they reach after an exciting sequence where they whip around, swerve past the lava, and even go through an upside down loop, all to bring them back to the institute, where Enterprise tells the visitors that she has some alterations to make before her invention can become truly great, upon which they exit.

Matterhorn, more to come.
Hmm, I thought we already had Switzerland at EPCOT Center... I mean Epcot. Well then.

Matterhorn and the Switzerland Pavilion
47b3ff150751744038276c4e270eb03c.jpg

In time for Epcot's 40th anniversary, aside from the name change back to EPCOT Center, the park will receive a long-lost pavilion and attraction, Switzerland and the Matterhorn Mountain roller coaster.

Between Germany and Italy, as the site was originally proposed, Switzerland will take guests into a small village in the Alps, complete with the Matterhorn Mountain Bobsleds, a bobsled slide/coaster taking guests through the Matterhorn in high-pace, along with a final splash drop at the end; yes, this attraction will be a literal bobsled slide/coaster, with the long curves, and sliding drops.

Aside from the attraction, the pavilion itself will hold wonderful things, such as a music box shop, a wood-carving demonstration and shop, a candy store, and an accessories/clothing store; across from these is the Matterhorn Meals, a table-service restaurant that not only serves food, but also serves a great view of the splash-down drop on the Matterhorn Mountain Bobsleds.

Bonus:
Vegas Gateway will become a Citywalk 2.0 type area accompanying the third gate; this area will be host to fun neon lights and signs, along with restaurants, shops, and bars with special souvenirs and drinks.
