Epcot Health and Wellness Festival
ferstival.jpg

With the recent tally that Epcot now has 266/365 days of 'festivals' at the park, the one time of year that has been immune to festivals has been the summer, yet next year a brand new summer festival will open as the Epcot Health and Wellness Festival will be arriving from June 21st - August 10th as a celebration of healthy living.

Bringing the Wonders of Life back to its original intention - the Life/Health Pavilion will be one of the star attractions of the festival, with accessible athletic trainers from Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, as well as from the Orlando Magic NBA Basketball team, working through exercise routines and techniques for your benefit.

But no festival at Epcot would be worth it to Disney executives without the potential for a profit via food/beverages, which is facilitated by Whole Foods and other organic food companies sponsoring expos of culinary samplers from both domestic regions (located in the former Odyssey Restaurant), as well as several international destinations (located in World Showcase) where guests can taste the healthy side of food and wine from around the world.

--Bonus--
In the Fall of 2018, a group of friends leaving Epcot via the International Gateway after an evening splurging on libations, discover that one of the group members is missing their MagicBand, yet rather than take the standard form of walking transportation to re-enter Epcot, have the intuition that it would be faster to swim into the park, and thus a new form of transportation is born.

Coming in the Summer at Epcot, the "Festival of Discovery" will arrive, about discovering everything from science, food, and other experience that you would normally not experience!

The Festival of Discovery encourages kids to discover experiences like discovering secrets of an Egyptian Pyramid, discovering new unique foods, discovering what you can make with your own hands, discovering how high you can climb on giant nets, and even discovering science like air pressure.

This new festival is sure to be a blast for all ages and should hold everyone over until the overhaul is completed.

Bonus: A new transportation system connecting Disney's Animal Kingdom to Disney's Coronado Springs to the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot will debut, giving an easy way for guests to get from Disney's Animal Kingdom to Epcot.

Disney’s Fireworks around the World Festival

Disney’s Fireworks around the World Festival will be a celebration of all 11 Countries in the World Showcase running the last 2 weeks of January. Every night during the festival, a different country will be represented in the firework show as well as their country represented in little booths along the World Showcase where guests can get traditional food, drinks, etc. The schedule for the countries order is clockwise starting at Mexico so that guests can plan ahead to know which Country will be which day.

BONUS: Making a special deal with the Orlando International Airport, guests can drop their bags off at specially marked locations where their bags will be taken straight to the hotel while guests will get on a replica Bullet Train that drops them off at a train station in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot cutting the travel time from the airport to park down to less than 10 minutes.
Doing country-specific fireworks at night sounds like a neat addition to Epcot’s international style. Would this show be in lieu of IllumiNations, or in addition? For the daytime, carts for each nation’s food, well…it sounds a bit like Food & Wine. A great event, of course, but perhaps expected.

Bonus: I love the concept of a bullet train from the airport straight into Epcot’s Japan! Sounds like an improvement on Hogwarts Express. (+1)

(A note to all players: The Bonuses are free extra points, and entirely Blue Sky. Whatever ideas you have, just toss ‘em out!)

Guess I will give this competition a try! Sounds fun. Alright so here is what I got.

Disney's Future Forward Fall Festival

Based on the yesteryear of Epcot, Disney will now host a fall festival fully dedicated to the Epcot of the past from August 1st - September 30th. People will get to wear their retro gear and meet characters along with their own classic Epcot attire.

Come dressed in your yesteryear best!

A festival themed to retro Epcot is sure to be a hit. A very good idea, one I’d like to know just a little more about. Additionally, if this could be a way to bring back some old Horizons or Figment in some form, that would be excellent! :D

Summer of Innoventions
innoventions-east-gallery00.jpg

taking place June 21st - September 22nd, Innoventions will host new product displays by various companies and competitions held to showcase robot battles and many indie inventions/products. Alongside this, club cool will get a makeover, retheming it into a science lab and the famous sum of all thrills will return!
It sounds like what you’re describing is sort of what Innoventions once was, and really still ought to be. Of course any innoprovements would be most appreciated! It’d be a shame to have hits like Sum of All Thrills return only on a limited seasonal basis, but I still appreciate the idea. A month-long schedule might be an easier window for tech companies to tout their latest marvels.

Disney's Horizons Festival

03212012Epcot30AnniversaryMerch4-590x592.jpg

From February to April, gusts will be able to visit the original vision of EPCOT, at EPCOT! This festival will utilize the old Wonders of Live pavilion, and turn it into a pavilion that showcases the major elements that make up EPCOT (ocean, land, imagination, transportation, energy, technology, and communication), as well as adding a new parade (Mickey's New Horizons Parade). Club Cool will also get into the temporary action, turning into Horizon Hangout, and serving special soda drinks based around the major EPCOT elements, like transportation with Speedy Soda.

Bonus: Guests will also be able to reach EPCOT by the new Sonic Subway, a subway transportation themed around the Incredibles (1 and 2), that will arrive just behind MISSION: Space.
Another retro Epcot festival, somewhat like @KBLovesDisney’s, this time with a bit more specificity & detail. I like the wisdom of using underutilized venues like the Wonders of Life pavilion. The special drinks sounds like you’re bringing alcoholism to Future World…which is certainly Epcot’s style! (+1)

Bonus: An intriguing Incredibles idea. Not sure if Florida’s water table would allow for a subway, but whatever.

-Festival of Fright-
globe%252C+chalkboard%252C+Halloween%252C+scary%252C.jpg

Epcot's World Showcase celebrates the things all humanity have in common and focuses on the hope we all share, but every night after 7pm for the month of October the Festival of Fright will focus on something different all of us have in common around the world: fear.

Special features include Haunted houses inspired by scary stories around the world are set up in the circle vision theater in China, the theater in France and the Kawaii museum in Japan; a special show in the America pavilion theater; storytellers sharing scary myths and urban legend from around the world; and specialty food and beverages (because of course Epcot would have specialty food and beverages).

Due to the more mature nature of this event and the legitimately scary nature of many of the elements, kids are recommended to stay out of World Showcase after dark (a special illuminations will be held just after sunset so the event won't interfere) and the Frozen ride will close at 6:30
.

-Bonus-

A new year round method of entering Epcot in a grand fashion, guest can purchase tickets on a hot air balloon ride from the boardwalk to the entrance to world showcase in the heart of Epcot in an unforgettable experience!
I’m fond of World Showcase events, and yours is a great one – A unique multicultural version of the standard Halloween Haunt, with Epcot flair. Lots of solid thinking here, from the culturally specific horrors, to the food, to the IllumiNations accommodations for families. (With Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween over in MK, I’ve no doubt Epcot could host a more adult spookathon without alienating resort guests.)

Bonus: Hot air balloons to the International Gateway sounds honestly like the most realistic transportation idea proposed, and a truly magical experience to boot. I love it! (+1)

The EPCOT Film Festival
movie-theater.jpg

The Wonders of Life pavilion becomes a theater hall and showcases 75 short films, in which 25 are made by the Walt Disney Company and it’s subsidiaries and the rest are made by you— the fans.

Watch all of the short films (~15 min) that showcase great themes and real problems in the world all day (they add up to be about 18 3/4 hours) of come and go as you please!

EPCOT’s Future World is decorated with Golden Age Hollywood artifacts, and innoventions will open a new exhibit on the filmmaking process.

BONUS: Guests can now board a small plane before sunrise at the Boardwalk and skydive into the park.
A film festival? That’s unexpected! My favorite detail is how fans get to create many of the shorts themselves…presumably in advance. It’d be neat if day guests could even create new shorts, say with their smartphones while stumbling across World Showcase. Something more – like projecting guests’ films across Spaceship Earth at night – would really “plus” this concept.

Bonus: Skydiving into Epcot? Very down-to-earth! :hilarious: (+1)

Once again, welcome! And what a great first comment, too! Seriously. Food & Wine brings in the foodies, while your Festival of Fashion does the same for fashionistas. What a wonderful way to introduce guests to another unique (and profitable) aspect of foreign cultures. A perfect fit for Epcot, simple as that. :)

Going back to 1990 with a “Purist” proposal, eh? Best as I can tell – and forgive me, I’m fairly ignorant of Epcot’s history and I’ve not yet been to Florida – your festival would be a way to strengthen Epcot’s original concept. What better way to protect the park from its eventual thematic dilution and IP invasion! Definitely a distinct and carefully formed idea.

Bonus: Themed transport to Animal Kingdom is another great variation on the Hogwarts Express model. (+1)
