Oh, those poor Ingalls girls...

We drove cross country when I was in high school - 8 of us in the station wagon, no AC, and a car full of luggage and camping gear. When we'd hear that threat, it sounded like a better plan actually.

Back from Splish Splash - got in 3 hours before the storms rolled in. It was fun - but strange seeing all the nuts and bolts of an attraction since I'm so used to theming!! We left when it started to rain - some friends stayed around to try to stick it out (with 70% storms for the rest of the day we didn't see the point!) Anyway the park ended up getting closed and everyone that stayed got a rain check so that's a little annoying but one of my friends probably isn't going to use his and said we can have it. Oh well we still had fun!

And now it's sunny out. Go figure!!!

We're geting the storm now - tornado warnings 'til 9 (or 7 depending who you listen to). The sky is really a funny color right now.

Yeah - that's why we left as soon as we heard thunder. As much as I want that rain check since I plan on taking them back before school, my friends all stood in the rain - torrential rain - under barely an overhang for almost an hour before the park closing announcement was made. There are better things for my kids to do than stand out in a thunderstorm. Glad I made the decision to bolt. They were disappointed but honestly there were NO LINES because of the rain threat so we really made the most of out 3 hours.
