Oh there you are Perry: A Sept/Oct 2011 TR

It is so hard to believe that this time a week ago I was still running around Main Street USA but alas, it is back to reality, for the next 407 days :fork:

I'll stop my pity party and get right down to reliving the magic!

The Who:

IMG_0573.jpg

 Here we are! Our cast is made of of myself, Nicole(27) and the Disney loving boyfriend of almost 3 years, Ryan (22). This was our 4th time in the world together since our 1 year anniversary trip in February 2010!

The When
September 28, 2011 - October 3, 2011

The Where
Disney's All Star Sports Resort

Now that we have all the basics out of the way..let's get moving!

September 28 2011

Ryan had class all afternoon and I had work until 2:45 so unfortunately it was a light flight out for us . I would have loved to call out that day but I was already taking one day for the trip so I couldn't (School was closed 2 days for the Jewish holiday and your not "suppose" to call out before or after a long weekend...oh well!)

I had ants in my pants all day long. Partially because I am a terrible flyer and partially because I just wanted to be there already! I found myself checking the flight status over and over again. Low and behold, around noon it happened; flight status: DELAYED! For the time being it was only delayed for about 45 minutes so we stuck with the plan and headed to the airport around 4. I had done the on-line check in with Jet Blue and we had checked our bags and were through security in ab out 20 minutes, now all we had to do was wait.

We decided to grab something to eat at none other than..

IMG_0786.jpg

THE EARL! Yes, we are lucky enough to have one in Newark Airport! I was really looking forward to a BLT but alas it wasn't even on the menu! I had the original with Cheddar not Swiss which was pretty good. Ryan devoured the BBQ chicken sandwich and than the rest of mine.

By the time we boarded it was about 7:40, I knew this was NOT good news. The flight was quick, 2 hours and 2 minutes...if only it had left on time! Happy to see this as I made my way through the terminal!
IMG_0787.jpg

Bad new was by the time we landed it was after 10pm and we had to go get our own luggage before we made our way over to...

IMG_0788.jpg

IMG_0789.jpg

The other stinker about arriving late was that we were missing EMH's at Epcot..boo!

We hoped the bus and we were on our way! Before we knew it we were arriving at All Star Sports

IMG_0791.jpg

I had also used online check in but because it was almost midnight there was only 1 person behind the desk and the family in front of us was having some trouble. We got a room in the Home Run Hotel section, we requested a king bed, but didn't get one and by this time all I wanted to do was sleep!! But who can sleep when there are so many things to take pictures of!

(Just a side note..I did take 525pictures on this trip)

The reason we were in such a rush was because we had a breakfast ADR at..
IMG_1004.jpg

IMG_1011.jpg

Before we left I had gotten a $15 gift card on groupon so we decided to try it out. I had the breakfast of bandits
IMG_1012.jpg

This was absolutely enormous and the toast was so thick, I was not expecting this much food! Needless to say, Ryan ate more of it than I did, story of my life. He also had his own breakfast, Cha Cha's Wild Waffle
IMG_1013.jpg

Our server was really very inattentive, she only came to take our order and bring us our check but we really didn't mind. It was cute that every so often the animals would move and make some noise but after the 10th time it can get on your nerves a bit. We finished up and headed out back to the resort where I spent some time venturing into the sections I hadn't seen before. All the while snapping away of coarse!

IMG_1014.jpg

IMG_1017.jpg

IMG_1021.jpg

IMG_1023.jpg

The heat was still a killer so I headed for my mid day shower and change and we were back out the door and headed back to Epcot

It was the first day of the Food & Wine festival and I was excited to check it out. I should probably mention neither of us drink wine, I think it would have been much more exciting if we had

IMG_1025.jpg

IMG_1026.jpg

We were desperate to escape the heat so our first stop was Mexico
IMG_1028.jpg

We rode with the 3 caballeros and afterwards I swiftly made my way to the margarita stand..tequila much..sweet lord! I wasn't going to make it to Germany if I kept s__________g it down so I shared..but not much LOL. As we headed passed Norway and into Germany Ryan stopped to grab a beer.

If anyone needed an idea for Christmas this year may I suggest the pickle tree
IMG_1031.jpg

IMG_1032.jpg

I was excited to see all my countries were finally in Epcot, even if it was only a temporary kiosk. Up first..

IMG_1033.jpg

Having a last name that ends in SKI you really can't escape the fact that everyone knows your a Polack. Unfortunately it's only 25% and I really don't know all that much about my Polish heritage since my grandfather passed away when I was a baby. I swore I would stop for perogies but I never made it that far. We were on a mission to get to the Rose and Crown in the UK and when we arrived we recognized the bartender immediately! It was KARL, the same bartender who had taken care of us on our last trip! I had my usual leaping leprechaun and Ryan had the welsh dragon..sooo good! I should probably mention that I am an extreme lightweight so after my margarita and half of my leprechaun I was feeling pretty good. We ordered some shots, which were more like doubles and than it hit me..iiiii'm not feeling so hot! 100 degree weather + alcohol = no bueno! I started to panic and told Ryan to get the rest of my drink in a to go cup and meet me across the street by the bathrooms.

Some cold air and cold water later I was back out it on the streets of the UK. Heeey there photo jacker..
IMG_1034.jpg

Right next to the UK was my homeland (my grandparents moved to the US from Dublin in the early 1960's, a lot of my family lives there, actually my cousins are coming to visit next week!)

IMG_1036.jpg

Alas, the kiosk was closed...dang it! We kept on moving and finally I see what I have been looking for all this time
IMG_1037.jpg

So proud to be Greek! I really think Greece should have been one of the original counties, I still hold on to the hope that one day it will appear. My grandmother is 100% Greek so I know all about the food from her so I knew I had to stop for some Slovaki which I devoured!

We had a dinner ADR at HS and planned on watching Fantasmic! so after my slovaki we headed out and caught the bus over to HS. Epcot is my 2nd favorite park and I am really bummed that we didn't get to spend more time there this trip, on our last one we were basically there everyday. People have said that one park always dominates on your trips and after this one it defiantly rang true for me.

Loving the report so far!

I'm so glad you tried and enjoyed Sanaa!

I had a real problem with EE in 2009, so I can relate, but really enjoyed it in August. Food and Wine looks like a great time and it's great to hear from a fellow Greek! Yasou!

Thanks for jumping on board, it's good to have ya here! I kept my eyes peeled for you too while I was down there but no such luck..hmp!! I'm still holding my grudge about that BLT ! :ROFLOL:

Of course! I was such a fan of your last report that I had to come on board for this one!

And I just noticed your next trip and funny because we are looking to go next year at the same time  Except right after Thanksgiving so we would arrive on the 25th a day before you leave. Crazy! I guess great minds just think alike :king:

We were at EPCOT at the same time! We must have been on opposite ends of the countries or something.

Loved seeing a little bit of AK, we decided to skip it this trip it seemed like we never had time to go there and we were there for 6 days! We just had other priorities. So thank you for filling in that gap for me! :)

I know how you feel, I felt like I had no time either! There is just way to much to do and see, I need a good two week trip!

September 30 2011 cont

So after our little adventure in Epcot we headed out to catch the bust to HS. It was around 3:30 and still blazing hot! This afternoon we wore our matching Agent P shirts because we had plans to meet Phineas and Ferb. All day long people and CM's were shouting at us "Where's Perry" or "Oh, there you are Perry". For the rest of the trip I found myself repeating "Oh, there you are Perry" whenever we saw someone with a Perry shirt.

When we got to the park it was so crowded so we headed towards the animators building to meet Sorcerer Mickey. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, when it was our turn Mickey noticed my sunglasses in my hand, he took them from me and put them on my face and we took this

IMG_1045.jpg

Than he took them off my face and handed them back to me and we took some more pictures

IMG_1046.jpg

The photopass pictures are hilarious! You can see him putting them on and taking them off of me. I was giggling like a school girl the entire time!

We skipped Pooh and Mr. Incredible and headed back out in the heat and made our way to Phineas and Ferb. The line was LONG and moving SLOW and we waited for about 25 minutes without any shade. Ryan almost passed out. He had to go splash water on his face and sit in the shade while I held down the fort in the line. Phew! This heat was a killer!

Finally it was our turn! I got lots of hugs and kisses from the boys and Ferb posed Ry like this

IMG_1051.jpg

Afterwards we obviously needed a break from the heat again so we headed over to Muppets, which I love!

IMG_1052.jpg

Than we headed to Star Tours. This was our first time on since the refurb and it was awesome! This is coming from someone who has never seen Star Wars (and never plans too) but we rode it two times, both were different, and we both really enjoyed it. Ryan was actually the spy on board! The only thing that surprises me about this ride is the wait time, there is never one! We didn't wait in line for this anytime we visited this trip, TSMM, RnR and ToT were always mobbed though!

We finished up, and headed over towards our ADR at
IMG_1048.jpg

The lobby is so small and it was packed in there! Both of us were exhausted, we had only slept a total of 12 hours in 3 days, plus the heat, and all the running around. I made myself a corner on the floor to sit in while we waited...and waited...and waited...

We ate here on our April trip and loved it so we knew we wanted to start off with the delicious calamari

IMG_1057.jpg

They now have it with some new dipping sauces but I didn't try them, I'm not that adventurous, but the calamari itself did not disappoint. The breading is so light and tasty!

For dinner we both ordered the penne vodka but after inhaling the calamari, plus bread, we would have been better off just splitting one entree

IMG_1058.jpg

By the time we finished dinner it wasn't long after 7. Ryan kept mentioning to me how tired I looked and said we could skip Fantasmic! and go home. I really wanted too but I felt bad because I know how much he enjoys it. We went back and forth debating and decided we should head back otherwise we would be waiting for over an hour plus we would have to fight the ginormous crowd out afterwards. We decided to head out but stop for a treat for later just in case we got hungry.

IMG_1062.jpg

We slipped into get some treats from the villains where I went wild with the camera!

Another mirror shot
IMG_1063.jpg

I hope you're ready...because here comes the food !

I nabbed one of my favorites..with pink icing of coarse!

After several months of anticipation Ryan nabbed the last one of these..

Yummy Halloween cookies
IMG_1074.jpg

IMG_1075.jpg

Every time I get a cupcake in WDW something always ends up happening to it because they always put it in some type of container or contraption that is too big for it. As I was running around the place taking pictures Ry came back with my cupcake. Nicole likes this

IMG_1077.jpg

My love!
IMG_1080.jpg

Ry wanted a pic of the snake
IMG_1083.jpg

All I cared about was the lollipops haha
IMG_1084.jpg

We finished up and took our treats and our tushes out of the park, but not before I nabbed a pic of this adorable window display. These ladies were kicking away like the rockettes

IMG_1085.jpg

We headed to the bus stop where we waited for about 30 minutes for a bus to come. When it arrived about 5 people in wheelchairs were waiting so they were assisted first and by the time they were all set and their families were loaded in there was barely any room for anyone else. About 10 people in front of us opted out of going on that bus because there was nowhere to sit. At this point we didn't care and we knew Sports was the first stop so we jumped on.

The rest of the night was spent being lazy and it was early to bed because tomorrow was another early morning.

Coming up: WDW's 40th anniversary celebration!

Awesome trip report so far!! :) I hadn't heard yet about watching the fireworks on the beach at the Poly so I'm glad you mentioned it ! ;) hope you didn't get too sick at World Showcase!

Thanks for reading along! I actually heard about the Poly from people here and I was so glad we did it! The resort is gorgeous and you can't beat fireworks on the beach while looking at Cinderella's Castle!

I wasn't feeling too hot for a little while, a combination of heat and alcohol will get to ya! Me being a blonde, Polish, cheerleader I don't always think things through :ROFLOL: luckily I was feeling like my bouncy self after about an hour

Great trip report so far!! I loved the part where you saw wishes at poly! Can't wait to read the rest!:sohappy:

 Thanks so much, it was was of those truly amazing Disney nights!

That'll be fun! A birthday, thanksgiving, and a christmas trip!!! The parks are so beautiful at Christmas.

I know!!! A nice two week trip to visit the water parks, play some mini golf, relax, go resort hopping, and visit the parks! That would be an awesome trip!

Yes all those things going on and hopefully a big shiny diamond :ROFLOL:

Normally I'm not too big on Christmas, I never was, but I have seen pictures and heard so many great things about Christmas at Disney. Once we decided to do Halloween this year we knew we were going to do Christmas next year.

If I win the lottery I'll be jumping on that 2 week trip :ROFLOL: I can keep hoping for that one too

Finally all caught up! First, it does my heart good to hear that Sunset Pointe bestowed it's magic on you and Ryan. It is such an amazing place - I will forever tear up when I walk out to the end of the Pointe and gaze across the Bay at the castle. Chills! Second, love the Primeval Whirl mirror shot! OMG! I had totally forgotten there was a mirror there. We now have to ride it on our next trip, for this reason alone.

Oh yeah, I ordered that same Rainforest groupon. Looking forward to using it on our next trip - I somehow managed to leave it at home during this most recent trip. Speaking of, I'm still scouring your photos for any sight of myself. :D

It's finally here, the big day, Walt Disney World's 40th birthday! The park opened at 9 and we had hopes to make it for rope drop. We arrived at the bus stop at about 8:20 and wait...and waited...and waited...A CM was outside telling everyone a bus would be there shortly but it felt like forever! Finally we were on our way but alas, because of the delay we arrived shortly after rope drop.

IMG_1086.jpg

Everyone that morning also received these, which we wore proudly all day!
IMG_1087.jpg

Now, we knew about the stage show at 10am, but why were all these people sitting on the sidewalk along Main Street. I didn't like the uncertainty of not knowing exactly what was going on. We forged ahead and tried to get as close to the castle as possible.

IMG_1091.jpg

It was beautiful outside! Not a cloud in the sky and the heat and humidity had finally broke! We were lucky enough to get a stop right by the partners statue. A large section was roped off but we were informed it would be removed and we could move up closer at that time, so we did. The only problem, we couldn't see anything going on behind us which meant as the procession made it's way up Main Street towards the castle all I could see was the back of 10,000 heads! They relived all the previous WDW anniversary celebrations and the princes and princesses all made their way to the stage with some old favorites

IMG_1104.jpg

IMG_1112.jpg

Mainly the ambassadors did a lot of talking and than Meg and Tom made their speeches as well (These pictures are not the greatest but hey, I'm not that tall!)

IMG_1117.jpg

IMG_1118.jpg

The Dapper Dan's came out and lead all 10,000 of us in When You Wish Upon A Star

IMG_1120.jpg

After the celebration, fireworks and streamers shot out, of coarse but the question was, what next?? We were blocked in every direction and there was a sea of people...People in wheelchairs, babies in strollers, kid's on leashes..ugh..just move! I consider myself a professional walker and all those years in mosh pits really comes in handy when you have to squeeze your way through a crowd! phew!

We made it into Fantasy Land and I wanted to ride Peter Pan before the line got insane...too late! We ended up grabbing fast passes for later and we were given a surprise fast pass as well (Even though this never needs one) it was a fun surprise!

IMG_1122.jpg

After we gathered up the passes we went on Small World and than headed over to Philharmagic where we didn't use our fast pass. I don't think it was too long after that it was time for our flight to Neverland

The park was obviously packed but we didn't care and we were OK with not riding every single ride at that moment. We were just so grateful to be there and be part of this day. It was gorgeous so we just strolled around and stopped to take tons of pictures of coarse!

IMG_1139.jpg

We took a stroll through the Rose Garden

IMG_1140.jpg

IMG_1141.jpg

IMG_1142.jpg

IMG_1143.jpg

We decided to walk on over to Tomorrowland but not without stopping for a photopass pic

IMG_1145.jpg

It was time for the laugh floor which I absolutely love. The Monsters crack me up, especially Sam and Ella! It's good, clean, fun that everyone can get a good chuckle out of. Unfortunately, it was the only time we got to see it this trip

You definitely won't be dissappointed about Christmas time!

And I tried looking for myself in that big crowd near the castle for the presentation, I was bout 5 rows back but you couldn't tell lol. I'm sure there might have been time that we passed each other and we didn't even notice!!!

I'm sure we had to have passed each other in a crowd at some point, I know I defiantly saw Figment in a crowd at HS one night :ROFLOL:

Sorry about the lack of updates all, my family is here from Ireland and things have been a little hectic but I hope to have an update early this week
