Oh there you are Perry: A Sept/Oct 2011 TR

It is so hard to believe that this time a week ago I was still running around Main Street USA but alas, it is back to reality, for the next 407 days :fork:

I'll stop my pity party and get right down to reliving the magic!

The Who:

IMG_0573.jpg

 Here we are! Our cast is made of of myself, Nicole(27) and the Disney loving boyfriend of almost 3 years, Ryan (22). This was our 4th time in the world together since our 1 year anniversary trip in February 2010!

The When
September 28, 2011 - October 3, 2011

The Where
Disney's All Star Sports Resort

Now that we have all the basics out of the way..let's get moving!

September 28 2011

Ryan had class all afternoon and I had work until 2:45 so unfortunately it was a light flight out for us . I would have loved to call out that day but I was already taking one day for the trip so I couldn't (School was closed 2 days for the Jewish holiday and your not "suppose" to call out before or after a long weekend...oh well!)

I had ants in my pants all day long. Partially because I am a terrible flyer and partially because I just wanted to be there already! I found myself checking the flight status over and over again. Low and behold, around noon it happened; flight status: DELAYED! For the time being it was only delayed for about 45 minutes so we stuck with the plan and headed to the airport around 4. I had done the on-line check in with Jet Blue and we had checked our bags and were through security in ab out 20 minutes, now all we had to do was wait.

We decided to grab something to eat at none other than..

IMG_0786.jpg

THE EARL! Yes, we are lucky enough to have one in Newark Airport! I was really looking forward to a BLT but alas it wasn't even on the menu! I had the original with Cheddar not Swiss which was pretty good. Ryan devoured the BBQ chicken sandwich and than the rest of mine.

By the time we boarded it was about 7:40, I knew this was NOT good news. The flight was quick, 2 hours and 2 minutes...if only it had left on time! Happy to see this as I made my way through the terminal!
IMG_0787.jpg

Bad new was by the time we landed it was after 10pm and we had to go get our own luggage before we made our way over to...

IMG_0788.jpg

IMG_0789.jpg

The other stinker about arriving late was that we were missing EMH's at Epcot..boo!

We hoped the bus and we were on our way! Before we knew it we were arriving at All Star Sports

IMG_0791.jpg

I had also used online check in but because it was almost midnight there was only 1 person behind the desk and the family in front of us was having some trouble. We got a room in the Home Run Hotel section, we requested a king bed, but didn't get one and by this time all I wanted to do was sleep!! But who can sleep when there are so many things to take pictures of!

(Just a side note..I did take 525pictures on this trip)

Ahh yes so where were we...MNSSHP of coarse!! After our dinner at Toyko Dining we headed back to get changed for the Halloween party. I must admit I was kind of embarrassed walking through the resort but once we got to the bus stop and I saw a ton of other adults dressed up I was loving it!! It seemed like forever waiting but the bus finally arrived and we were on our way!

We arrived, grabbed our wrist bands, and in we went! My senses were in over drive..a Halloween party in my favorite place on earth, life wasn't getting any better!

I bet your wondering what our costumes were...well here it is!

IMG_1305.jpg

Aurora & Prince Phillip!

We headed up Main Street because we wanted to get a good spot for the first Villains mix and mingle! The show was AMAZING!

As soon as it was over we hauled it right over to one very specific Villains line. There were a few groups before us and I was in a panic that we wouldn't make the cut, thank god we did. The whole time waiting I was so nervous, what should I say, but more importantly, what is SHE going to say to ME..yikes!

The family in front of us finishes and I hear "Well, well, well, WHAT do we have here?!?" I had been waiting since I was a little girl for this moment, to meet the mistress of all evil, her excellence Maleficent!!

IMG_1319.jpg

In all of my excitement I blurted out "I love you, I think your beautiful"...what?!? did I, a grown woman, really just say that. All those years and that's what I spit out..sheesh, she probably thought I was nuts!

She asked me if Ryan had slayed a dragon to win my love, I said he did. He told her he was sorry he had to kill her but he loves her too. I thanked her 100 times and scampered off into the night. I was squealing with excitement over that moment the entire night!

We headed into Adventureland where we hoped on line for Jasmine and Geanie. An amazing CM was working and he kept gushing about how adorable we were and he told us we had to go find Aurora and Phillip...WHAT?!?! They are out...together!! See the guide tells you where the character spots are but they don't always tell you who will be there. The CM radioed around to see exactly where and what time they would be out and he said you have to find them! Well of coarse. But first we met Jasmine and Geanie. Jasmine asked where we were from and how long of a carpet ride it took to get here. Geanie than proceeded to try to take off with me, Ryan responded by saying I don't think so buddy!

IMG_1320.jpg

We made our way around, stopping to trick or treat along the way! I was surprised how much candy they give out, its awesome!

IMG_1321.jpg

We wanted to get a spot for Hallowishes, but Aurora and Phillip were going to be out immediately after so we wanted to make sure we had an escape path. While plotting we stopped for a photopass pic!

Up next: Aurora and Phillip meet...Aurora and Phillip!!

Great report thus far! I can't wait to see if you meet Aurora and Prince Philip!! Love your costumes by the way!!

This is the greatest picture!!!^^^^ I'm putting it on my list of pics to get next trip! Absolutely adorable, love it!

I also love this rose picture you got. So pretty with the sun shining in on the background.

IMG_1152.jpg

*swoon* what a great picture of the two of you! Cute dress too!

IMG_1186.jpg

Love this picture!^^ I have never been able to get a good one like this!

Also...I loved your description of your Poly night. What a magical night!

I love Tom Sawyer Island for the vantage point...you really get to see the outside attractions in a whole new angle.

Crying during Wishes. Don't worry hun, you will NEVER be the only one! I have been avoiding videos of the new Magic, Memories and You show because the music clips I have accidentally heard(all 5 seconds) already have me sure I'll be crying during that one!

Great report so far! Can't wait to read the rest!

p.s. those pics from CP are the WORST and most unflattering pictures EVER. Big ups to the CM for that lol

Awww! They weren't too bad! But I kwym, our pictures never turn out very well in there...I think it is the lighting!

You guys are too cute!

It's funny how you end up spending a majority of trips in one park. In August, my sister and I found ourselves spending most of our time in DHS of all places, followed by Epcot second. Totally different balance than the rest of our trips!

I was geeked out meeting Phineas and Ferb in August (I had on a Doofenschmirtz shirt at the time, lol), and I actually just got the shirt you guys were wearing for my birthday last month. Glad to see I'm not the only adult (I'm 31) who likes that show :D

Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip

 Thanks so much for all the lovin! Every trip I always try to get my pic in front of the castle by myself. Early mornings and evening EMHs have always been the best time to get it done. Each time I was on Space Mountain I kept trying to get that picture, this is the only one that is ll decent, it's so tricky to do!! Oh yes, the MM&Y is definitely a tear jerker, make sure you bring lots of tissues!

 Thanks for reading along! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only adult who watched Phineas and Ferb!! A lot of adults where P&F shirts around the park but they are always with kids, that's their excuse, I don't have one :ROFLOL:

I looooove your costumes!!! You guys are so cute!!!! Did you buy your Aurora costume or buy it?

Thank you lovey!! I did buy my costume, I got a really great deal on e-bay. It was anywhere from $75-$90 on websites and I ended up only paying $25 for it, can we say bargain!!

Awwww I love your costumes!! Y'all look too cute! :) I met Aurora and Philip on Friday night at the Christmas party. Aurora asked where my Prince was and suggested he was probably out slaying dragons lol

haha I just realized I asked if you bought it or bought it lol that last buy meant to say make but I guess it didn't matter  Wow and that definitely is a bargain!!! :) It's always hard to find adult Princess costumes, it seems the only ones I find are those really slutty looking ones, never a nice one like the one you have! But glad to know that they do exist lol

We nabbed our carefully mapped out spot for Hallowishes. This has now become my favorite fireworks display at WDW. As a huge fan of Halloween I highly recommend MNSSHP, it was well worth the money!

IMG_1329.jpg

IMG_1347.jpg

IMG_1350.jpg

Immediately after the fireworks ended we headed over to meet Aurora and Phillip. We still had a few minutes before they came out and we were about the 3rd group on line. As we waited we kept thinking of what we would say, for some reason I told Ryan he better be prepared to answer any questions about Sampson’s whereabouts. It was finally our turn and they were so excited to see us. I chatted up Phillip for the most part while Ryan chatted up Aurora. They spent a good amount of time with us, Phillip did ask me where I had left Sampson though. Of course I was ready to let him know I had left him at the stables with extra oats and carrots. We told them all about our run in with Maleficent earlier and they were pleased to hear she was nice to us. We took our picture, thanked them and said our goodbyes, we were on our way again!

IMG_1364.jpg

Next stop was to get our picture in front of Cinderella’s carriage. This was the longest line we had to wait on but since this was a rare opportunity we took it. The photpass guys posed the couple in front of us, into the cutest poses. It was our turn and here I am thinking they would do something cute for us too but did they, no..boo!

IMG_1365.jpg

The night before we had been talking to a CM in the Christmas store about the parade, he suggested viewing it right outside the store. He said it was one of the best spots so we headed over there afterwards to get a spot for the second parade. We were able to get a spot right in front of the ropes, of course as it started some giant dad with a video camera pushes me aside and goes right in front of me, so rude. For some reason it took me some time to get my camera going correctly so I didn’t get that many great pictures. The parade is fantastic! The headless horseman starts it all off followed by everyone’s favorites in their Halloween costumes, it was too cute. The best part is obviously the Haunted Mansion segments! The grave diggers and dancers were amazing and I was singing that catchy “Boo to you” song the entire night!!

We decided to go meet the rest of the royal couples handing out in town square theater so we made our way down Main Street as the parade was still coming down. We made it to the flag pole but had to stop because we couldn’t get across the street with the parade still going. I heard someone saying something about Aurora and Phillip; I turned around to find none other than my three fairies!! That’s right; Flora, Fauna and Merryweather were all out. Maleficent pointed out the whole group from her float and someone was nice enough to take this group shot of us!

IMG_1419.jpg

After the parade finished we went to spend some time with some of the other royals. First was Cinderella and Charming

IMG_1421.jpg

Followed by Snow and her Prince, they were both slightly awkward and didn’t say much, we just took our picture and kept on moving!

IMG_1422.jpg

Rapunzel and Flynn were next. I have to say I was excited about this, who doesn’t love Flynn!? You can’t resist the smolder. Rapunzel and I got caught up talking about her sparkle shoes

IMG_1425.jpg

IMG_1426.jpg

They were both great and we had a lot of fun with them! After we finished up with all our royal friends we headed to the other side of the theater to meet with Mickey and Minnie. There was no line and we were ushered right in, Minnie was so excited to see me, she pointed out several times that our dresses matched, she was very excited about that! After all of this excitement 7 year old Nicole was bursting at the seams with excitement!

IMG_1427.jpg

By this time it was midnight and we had to make our way out. There was no much we were not able to do at MNSSHP! We didn’t ride one single ride and spent most of the night grabbing treats and taking advantage of the character opportunities. There is simply not enough time during the party to experience everything they have to offer, if you are able to go twice, do it! I was bummed we didn’t get to see the 7 dwarfs or go by the Haunted Mansion. It wasn’t until I saw everyone else’s pictures that I realized just how much we really missed! It was however one of my absolute favorite nights in WDW EVER!

When we got back to the room the dreaded ME envelop was hanging from the door..boo! The good news was they were not picking us up until 4:15 the next afternoon so we still had the next morning to look forward too!

Great costumes!

I love all the meet and greet photos with them ( and I'm not much of a meet and greet kinda guy). Thanks for sharing.

I'm so jealous that my favorite Flynn Rider was out! We must have just missed each other again because I went in during the second parade and it was a different guy than the one I met on Tuesday, and they weren't as good, so they must have switched out right after! Boo!

Isn't MNSSHP just so much fun??? :) And simply love your group picture with your fairies!!!! :)

Well, talk about a laps! I had one day to go and I just fell off :ROFLOL:

Here I am, months later, finishing up my last day. I have been having "the itch" terribly recently. It has been almost 150 days since this trip and I fear I will not make it until November for my next one. So what better way to relive the magic than to finish up this darn report...and away we go!

October 3, 2012

Unfortunately today is leaving day, returning from MNSSHP to see that dreaded door hanger was not fun, but I knew our flight wasn't until after 7pm and DME wasn't coming until 4pm so there was still some time!

We checked in for our flight and checked our luggage and waited for the bus to MK. I refuse to go anywhere else on the day I leave, I just need to get it in one last time. As keeping with our tradition we would be having our last meal at Tony's. (This is something we have done on our previous 3 trips).

Our reservations were for 11:30am and Tony's had just opened!

IMG_1433.jpg

As we waited to be seated we put on our best "please don't make me go" faces, although I look sad, Ry looks well...I'm not sure :ROFLOL:

IMG_1435.jpg

The previous night we had gone to the ringer carver and had matching rings made with our anniversary. Ryan was so excited the entire time, he kept asking when they were going to be done because he wanted to wear it...he is so strange sometimes! Anyway, here they are!

IMG_1436.jpg

We were quickly seated and started off with some calamari...yummy!

IMG_1437.jpg

For lunch Ryan had a flatbread which he loved

IMG_1440.jpg

I enjoyed the eggplant stack!

IMG_1441.jpg

And of coarse we couldn't leave without our favorite dessert...the ice cream bomb!

After lunch we just began to wander. Check out the pics of the Fantasyland construction, it has been so long, and so much progress has been made!

IMG_1446.jpg

Who is this handsome duck?!?

IMG_1447.jpg

On our last visit the Tiki Room was under construction. neither of us had ever been inside so we decided to give it a whirl. A part of being cheesy it was pretty cute, although it is definitely not a must do every time.

IMG_1450.jpg

IMG_1451.jpg

Afterwards we headed back for one last ride on Space Mountain, and one more opportunity for me to try this shot!
