i know they have to get their story laid out, but i hope with only 6 episodes they don’t drag it out until it gets interesting. otherwise, when i recognized the grand inquisitor…

I know that's my biggest worry, and D+ shows have a tendency to do that. This show will most likely be the equivalent of a long movie. I just don't see all of a sudden we get 40 to 50 minute episodes. Therefore I see a total run time just over 3hrs. So it needs move along and get going relatively quick. I do hope I'm wrong about the episode length. But a trend is a trend.

This one won't work like that. It seems that Obi-Wan has replaced what could have been a theatrical film. So, I think the six episodes (depending on how long they are) could play out either like one long movie or two movies. This will be more of a fluid story, unlike Mandalorian. As great as Mando is, it still plays out like separate stories with the Mando/Grogu thing as glue.

You also have the issues of;

Are they just bloating a two hour movie into a 3 hour movie.

Are they just giving us a cheaper, lower effort movie as a TV show.

Or both.

Very true. But this is the point we are at with Star Wars at the moment. We just don't know what to expect from the brand. My expectation and hope, is this is by far my most loved D+ show so far. But would I be shocked if the show is an absolute dumpster fire? Not at all.

Apparently they had to reshoot some stuff so they pushed the date back a couple of days. Either reshoot some stuff or they had the change the story through editing somehow. According to an article I read they said that the show was "too dark" for their liking. Whatever the heck that's supposed to mean.
