IF a Frozen land had been built, where do you all think it should have gone? I would think maybe MK in the back of Fantasyland where there is a small parcel of land but it's next to where the fireworks are fired from and they would probably cause issues with fallout from them. You build a bridge that goes over the road that is heavily themed along the side of Little Mermaid. Please excuse the crude mock up...

Oh well though, guess it's stuck at Epcot.

They can't build back there. That is right next to a heavily used area to transport cast into the utilidors. They would have to build OVER the road pictured, which would be pretty damn expensive.

They'd have to build a bridge (for a guest path) over the road. Nothing all that fancy. How would that be cost prohibitive?

I understand the idea of putting Frozen into the Studios but it doesn't fit there either. I just couldn't see that land ever there. Maybe once we get the new lands I could see it but not sure why there's such a desire for a land in HS. MK would have been the smartest, especially now, because they need more.

I think Frozen would've worked in HS. Have Star Wars, Toy Story, and Frozen and you have Disney's biggest Lucasfilm, Pixar, and WDAS IPs each getting their own land. Frozen would work in MK too, but the last thing MK needs is more overcrowding.

oh well the other parks will get great new rides and Florida once again will regurgitate all over itself.

Frozenland should've gone in Kiddie Krapland, the $12.99 Intl Drive attraction. Single Toonlands don't fit any WDW Park.

A Frozen ride, I would've put in Fantasyland Mermaid. Major underperformer, lacklustre popularity, and Mermaid is already and better served in the DHS attraction. For Frozen it is the right thematic land, has huge capacity, could've been finished last summer, and the rocks can simply be painted white with a crystal castle added.

That's not the point really. That land, while it technically *could* be used, would take a lot of cleaning up of the surrounding area just to make it meet show standards. I mean, from back there, Mermaid is a three story warehouse, not beautifully themed to Eric's Castle, so that would obviously have to be fixed as well. Any land that would go there would have to be incredibly immersive so as to block the other, non-changeable ugly parts of the area.

Also, Buses run literally all the time back there, so you'd probably hear the sound of buses running constantly.

Tinkerbell and her movies are a "girl IP". Frozen has proven it is popular among pretty much all demographics.
tell that to the countless boys I saw dressed up as Elsa in the park last summer. I agree that it was made for girls but it is loved by boys too. It's on my top 5 list and I'm a 32yr old male.
In my sons Kindergarten class, we went and visited for Halloween party and there were 6 kids dressed up as Elsa and one of them was a boy. He looked awesome, it was fantastic to see. Besides the 6 Elsa's there were 4 Anna's and an Olaf. Thats 11 of the 22 kids in his class were dressed as Frozen.

Anecdotally, that's great stuff. In reality, despite the gender neutral, everything is okay approach to things - DHS's offerings and future offerings will be geared more to the male side of things. And that's not a bad thing. It really is okay that boys prefer some things and girls another. We really are different.

If you like Frozen and are male, that's okay too. (I thought it was an okay movie and have it in 3D in my collection.) If you want to dress your boys up like girls, that's fine too. (In my day, I think I saw a guy dressed up Princess Leia. But I was in San Francisco at the time.... sooo there is that.) Frozen had broad appeal as a movie property. Thematically, it belongs in Fantasyland not EPCOT.

I think if you really look at the individual properties represented in DHS, now and going forward, they are oriented more toward the male preference. But hey, if you think EPCOT is where a fantasyland attraction will be better received, you are with those in the leadership at TWDC. If you think the re-imagined Norway attraction is ill conceived based on capacity and location, I am with you.

It probably should have gone where I'm still betting it will go at Disneyland...Toontown (or Storybook Circus as WDW). Just my gut but that's why I think TT at DL was spared from SW.

Keen insight....Well done.

Said another way, it's IP sitting down.
Brilliant.... A master stroke...and something to smile about on my way to work...

I think the best way to use that land would be to put a ride entrance where the Storybook Circus tents are and then connect that to a show building back in that area.

Sorry if it's a bit offtopic and i'm risking sounding like an armchair imagineer here, but i'll repost an image I made showing seemingly unused land that could possibly be used for expansion at MK.

I'm not sure if every plot of land I marked can be realistically used (perhaps with enough money and ambition any of it). But look specifically at the land marked to the east of the Circus area (outside the train track), which was actually an officially designated expansion plot for future use when the park was first built. One assumes a pathway either underneath or over the track would connect the area. Assuming they could fill in and reroute the water to use the entire area, there's enough space to almost double the size of Fantasyland if so desired (it's a bit bigger than all of New Fantasyland including the Circus area). Lots of room for a Frozen miniland with plenty of space left over.

I can't see how I will ever get to ride it.

Resort guests will hoover up the fastpasses with their 60 day benefit, and I wouldn't spend even 2 hours queuing for my favourite ride in the world. My time will be limited in Orlando, not sure I can justify such a wait.

I think it looks a fun ride though.
My guess is that it will be the standard mess for a year (see Radiator Springs Racers) and then it will become more manageable. If Disney does it right, they will limit the number of advanced FP+ reservations and leave a block per hour available for day guests.

WAIT!!! Toontown is being kept? This is the first I've heard this. GREAT news - it's one of my favorite places in DL. So where will the DL SW Land be going then?

You should go read the thread in the DL forum.
Yes, Toontown not leaving.
SW land taking over big thunder ranch, some backstage area and part of the rivers of america. Yes, they will be removing part of Tom Sawyer Island, shortening the river and re-routing the train across the portion of the river we are losing (that portion being filled in apparently)
