Oh, that's fantastic. If I had been there in line behind you, I would have bought you dinner to thank you.

I've noticed that behavior a few times myself. Where's the supervision and local management to clamp down on that stuff? It's just unprofessional. If the Imagineers who designed and built these rides, many of which were supervised by Walt himself, had wanted a vamping lounge singer on the unload dock they would have added an animatronic to perform that role.

But why is that even okay for these CM's? Where's the supervision to clamp down on it and keep them professional? They are not the star of the show, they are merely the polite and efficient operator who keeps the real show running.
I would click "like" 20 times if I could.

I wonder if we're thinking about the same cast member here.
At Tower of Terror?

Not sure if this has been reported, but the last row of each boat for pirates isn't being used due to the water issues. Also it's so annoying getting backed up to the fire scene because the unload situation for pirates is disastrous.

I'm with you Martin the ride needs major help.

Also no movement from the barking spaniel, no mermaids at all and the black beard projection might as well be turned off.

Alas something that is finally annoying me. Y'all said it would happen :(

I hate that the standby queue is extending out into the street, even when the wait times displayed are "25 minutes" Maybe the wait is only that long, but I will certainly be interested in seeing how far down the street the line stretches during peak season.

Also, yes, the last 3 times I've been on POTC the boats have backed up and actually slammed into each other, likely because of unloading problems.

I hope they figure something out.

So is the increased wait time on Pirates then due to boats being held longer and longer at unload so that the CMs there can scoop water out of the floorboards?
This would certainly begin to cut into hourly capacity, as would eliminating the rear row of seats.

While I have no proof.... I suspect you might be right. The internal politics inside TWDC are nothing short of ruthless. I'm sure theres constant power plays going on.
It really is a shame that this is what society has boiled down to. Nothing is made to last anymore. The role of Companies have devolved from creating quality products for good people to a scheme to put more money in the hands of the select few. Frankly, I really hope that something truly drastic happens. My confidence in the American People and the human spirit in general has slowly disintegrated over the last 12 years.

Yup.

Although I've seen similar behavior at Haunted Mansion in WDW. And some weird stuff from the crowd control CM's while waiting for parades and water shows.

After reading Martin's report How can any of you still go to Disney World? The place is a dump and its an insult to Walt and Roy Disney to even give these guys $100 a day to visit. Stop going, send the message that this kind of state the parks are in is unacceptable and then return once WDW has been brought up to it's former high standards otherwise your just wasting your hard earned cash to boost attendance numbers for a corporation.

You bring up a really GOOD point - The ONLY thing that will wake up TDO is losing money.

I can't really blame them. How would you feel knowing that the people in charge don't care and are being forced to harass people into subscribing to MM+ and having to deal with the Honey Boo-Boo generation.

The same way I feel about my job, where all management(company wide) got 10% raises plus nice chunks dropped in their 401k while us lowly hourly folks got an average raise of 25 CENTS per hour and a few hundred bucks plopped into our 401k. Yet I continue to ship out dialysis supplies without error or damage because I know that it's not the patient's fault that my company is a money grabbing slab of crap that doesn't care about it's own workforce....

I'm pretty sure these comparisons are spot on for both companies.

And THIS is the problem with American companies writ large, Management assumes the line workers are stupid and don't notice the differential in pay and perks and while business magazines rail against the 'entitlement mentality of workers' they are blind to the same mentality in the management ranks.

This of course drives unions to want more money for their workers because the company obviously HAS the money, Which in many cases is not true the executives with these inflated packages are many times looting the company leaving it financially exhausted and ready to collapse.

One of the reasons the US military works is that that the General Officers are not paid that much more than the rank and file a CWO with twenty years makes 6,900/Mon a General O9 makes 12,700, The same is true in Asia and to a lesser extent Europe where the average CEO makes less than 1M in total compensation.

Just got back from MK a few hours ago. POTC mist projections completely turned off. We still had fun :) FP+ actually works out pretty well for AP holders (so far)

Did you at least see the Mermaids....because they were also off on Thursday along with the fog effect. Although I will admit that somehow there were WAY fewer flash photos taken when we hit PoTC this year as compared to other trips.

The weren't running when I went in August...and it was embarrassing for me as I was telling the kiddo how they were there...and...they weren't...
