Pirates also does not have a sustained FP demand, nor any efficiency problems right now. Any longer lines would be because of popularity and attendance. Using the exterior plaza is a different use of space due to displacement, not an actual longer wait.
Indeed. FP has forced the line out of a duel, elaborately themed set of lines into the outdoor bland switchback and a single line for the majority of riders. A line that FP threatens to make longer due to it being forced on an attraction neither designed nor with need for FP.

Let me recount the Omnimover incident....

A group of us rode Aerials Undersea Adventures. Myself and a friend sat in one clamshell Omnimover, Michelle and another friend behind us. All was well through the first scene with Scuttle. As we rotated to face backwards to descend, and expecting to see the back of the Omni behind, we were surprised to say the least to see Michelle and Harold still facing us, now leaning towards us due to the incline and against the safety bar. As if that weren't enough, their vehicle instead of leveling off proceeded to swivel to face a blank wall, as it did for the first Aerial scene Part of your World. Imagine the hysterics. For the rest of the ride it rotated at will, obviously throwing a gear or a cog and loosing all idea of which way it should face. Naturally we reported all this as unload and tagged the vehicle. Not bad for less than a year old.

And naturally I have it all in HD :)

Disco Clamshell

I gotta wonder if WDW is built on an ancient Indian Discotheque ....

That's the segment where the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy ghost is busting his way out of the dome. He's not a friendly ghost, either. His name is Bob. Seriously.

And what's with Disneyland naming animatronics and attraction characters, but they don't bother with that at WDW? Disneyland's Matterhorn has Harold the abominable snowman, Ghost Galaxy has Bob the cranky ghost, etc. But at WDW's Everest it's just "the Yeti" and he doesn't have a name. Why is that? Stuff like that adds to the fun and charm and the local culture of the place.

Because TDO does not care about parks and it shows

True.

Why do you think Custodial has so many Cast who do not speak English well or don't know where anything is located in the park?

Because Illegals work cheap and don't challenge management, The US really needs to put some managers and executives away for a LONG time. It's even worse if this is contract labor as the people get shuffled from crew to crew. If we really need imported labor then come up with a robust guest worker program like every other civilized nation.

FP has nothing to do with Haunted Mansion's lines being longer. Yes, a sustained FP demand would make the standby longer, but there is no sustained FP demand since there is no legacy FP to offer.

Pirates also does not have a sustained FP demand. Any longer lines would be because of popularity and attendance. Using the exterior plaza is a different use of space due to displacement, not an actual longer wait.

Wrong - there have been no lines in SEPTEMBER anywhere in WDW, Until the debut of FastPassMinus

Exactly!! For the love of Pete, Imagination is being set up for Fastpass plus. When in the hell does it need Fp+, because I've never seen a line in there in our 6 trips in September and March or our December trip.

Fp+ is being shoved down our throats, even when it's not needed.

Pleasant, friendly and helpful. If not liking your boss was an excuse to treat other people badly or not do your job well, most people wouldn't be working, lol.

You do a job well because you have pride and a good work ethic, not because you're treated as well as you think you should be.

I'm guessing you have never been a manager in a unionized organization, Workers cannot be fired without a lengthy process and if relations are not good with management - well let's just say the workers are not shy in taking out their frustrations on the customers. There IS no professionalism on display anywhere, And if a individual union worker deviates from the party line likely to find tools broken, tires slashed etc.

The Test Track chaos after the design room is about as dissatisfactory as anything on site. There is literally no way to experience the attraction in under 25 minutes. Even if it were "walk on". The original was never a zip on, but the preshow take 3-5x longer than it did before. Single rider is pretty much the only way to experience this without it putting a dent into your day. Heck, Fastpass can take almost an hour to experience it now. That's just insane.

I have yet to experience something at Disney that makes so many angry guests.

End up on the first row's last spot, gain an extra 10+ minutes in wait time???

Pirates queue is equally insane. Switchbacks outside constantly?

HM line outside the gate... Always???

Next Gen queueing sucks hardcore. Lines that were never more than 10 minutes are becoming 20+ minutes regularly.
I felt that the overlay of TT lacks a soul. Atleast the previous version had a storyline and purpose. I know that with the new one you're own "testing" your design concept, but the actual ride now seems to be nothing more than Techno music, neon, and dead space with no storyline to continue through the attraction itself. You race for 10seconds, you stop and stare at an LCD screen for 10 seconds, you move on... It left me wanting something more.

You really do have to wonder if WDI naming the ghost "Bob" is a coincidence or not, Frankly, I am amazed that made it into public usage.

Perhaps you don't realize, but I am extremely aware of the situation, dealing with it on a daily basis. No offense, but you are not. It's extremely arrogant for you to dismiss me as flat-out wrong without first making sure you know what I'm talking about.

Look we KNOW you are a CM, All attractions have a capacity and a intended latency, From the apparent effects Disney did not not do the proper studies of increasing latency on attractions even adding 1 second per person creates significant waits.

This sucks for you as a CM. But there are those of us who have been going for 20+ years and we know to a first approximation what wait times should be

There is something known as Queuing Theory and it covers everything from guests on a omnimover to IP packets traversing a network, FP- alters the queue processing and signficantly increases the latency when latency increases queues slow down.

The old FP system was an example of a priority queue where a small amount of traffic ie 'FP Guests' was prioritized over the standby lines which are a BE or 'Best Effort' queue,

Now with FP- implementation we have a strict priority queue in which standby is now what is referred to as a slopsucker queue in that FP- guests are prioritized over all other queue entries, Entries in the slopsucker queue may not be processed at all or will be processed with a long delay, In networking the TTL (TIME TO LIVE) expires at WDW people run out of patience and leave the (drop) queue entry.

It doesn't suck for me at all. You are incorrect on the current FP+ impact on the Haunted Mansion. Current is a key word, of course.

No kidding?

That is incorrect. Nothing is changing in terms of FP ratios.

I don't think you're going to listen to that because you are very confident in using outside anecdotal experience as reasonable support in case-making, but for anyone else concerned, they need to know FP priority is not changing.

I laid out the basics of the math, greater latency == longer lines, I'm not interested in a flame war you are better informed on the specifics of park operations.

however I would warn you that Disney is pulling CM's in for chats when they reveal too much internal information so please don't get carried away

@Mansion Butler I'm assuming you're a HM CM. If so, please find out who closed the front of the attraction and foyer last Thursday and let them know that the Mexican guy they rushed to get through is VERY displeased at them and they are part of the reason I don't want to return to WDW. If it wasn't for my wife and kids wanting to give Disney another chance I wouldn't have booked the bounce back.
