New Ursula AA (LM ride)

This is just the begining, many more wonderful things will be hitting "the world" in the next couple of years! I'm not saying I know someone, or have speacial info....... Disney will do it because they HAVE TO do this stuff!!!(expansions/uprades)

We can gripe about the yeti all we want and how bad it is currently, but I for one still hit the attraction at least 3 times while there. It is still a great ride. That being said though, they did frame a great part of the attraction around him and boast on how impressive he is (was)... I don't think they know how to solve the foundation issue yet , so they haven't, when they figure it out, I bet we will se it done.

I don't want to go off topic here (this thread is about Ursula not the Yeti) but I have to say this... they (meaning WDI and whoever else is involved) knows how to fix the Yeti! The problem is it will require shutting down the ride and they can't do that b/c AK is lacking in the ride department as it is (I personally like AK, even with it's lack of rides).

I guess count me in as part of the "glass half full" crowd. I have high hopes for this AA and I think they will maintain as it is a pretty important part of the ride.

I can't believe how excited I am for this ride...

Man - she certainly is creepy - and I mean that in a good way. Maybe I've seen "Child's Play" one too many times but when the Imagineer is painting her fingernails and lipstick I half expected her to swipe at him. :lookaroun

How many 4 year olds in pretty Ariel dresses are going to come off that ride completely freaked out (she freaked me out a bit and I'm...well...MUCH older)

There seems to be a lot of negativity to new ideas at Disney and a lot of people down on WDW. The building of a new animatronic is great news for any of the parks because it shows Disney is still willing to innovate. There is no information to suggest that WDW will not be treated to the same version of Ursula and I find the lack of faith disturbing.

We should be cheering a company which continues to spend vast amounts of money worldwide and yes perhaps the money may not be spent in your backyard but have some thought for others who find it difficult to get to Florida, they need the love too.

I don't see why VOTLM would close because there is a dark ride at MK. You have the dark ride Nemo at Epcot and Nemo the musical at AKL.

But the effects and puppets are much better for the nemo show, and its' ride counterpart is mostly just projections. Compared to the early 90's looking VOTLM, With SUCH high tech, fluid, better animatronics on the new ride at MK, VOTLM will just look pathetic :/

I really like VOTLM...they just need to plus a couple of aspects. Make Ursula puppet look more realistic and upgrade the screen to HD/Digital for starters.

I read an online article about this as well. It's supposed to be when she's singing, "Part of Your World" when you'll see her hair actually animate. They're teasing us with Ursula. Wait til they reveal Ariel!

That sounds a-friggin-mazing...

Watched the video this morning before work and that AA is truly fascinating. The part that really "wow"ed me was when they moved her upper lip sides separately from the corners of her mouth so that she can snear and make all kinds of evil faces. Her eyes seemed incredibly real as well. Very realistic in a live-cartoon sense...

I'm even more excited for this to open than I was before. :D

Good things, Disney. Keep it up!

I think what's most facinating about this animatronic is the realistic flexible skin. In most human animatronics, you'll notice they wear long sleeves because exposed skin would limit flexibility of the arms since the rubber skin would fold unnaturally and tear.

We should be cheering a company which continues to spend vast amounts of money worldwide and yes perhaps the money may not be spent in your backyard but have some thought for others who find it difficult to get to Florida, they need the love too.

If all we ever did on here was cheer about how great everything is at WDW, this forum would get very boring very fast.

This AA looks fantastic! I'm hoping WDW gets an exact clone (as anticipated). But I was wondering, does anybody know where I can find the EE/yeti preview video?

How's that dragon doing in DL Fantasmic?
Both east coast and west coast have their issues.

It would be nice if some of your posts wern't so pro-DL, anti WDW. I understand that you work at DL, but no need to constantly dump on WDW.

Dragon in Fantasmic! is doing great, so far.

I actually don't work at DL (although I wonder what I'll do in retirement), but I do visit DL a lot and WDW semi-regularly. And there's a noticeable difference between the two properties when it comes to maintenance. I didn't realize I was "dumping", but rather commenting on my own observations.

my thoughts exactly. i have to admit, ursula still kind of creeps me out. when she grows all big and is terrorizing in that ominous, scary, infinite ocean...::shudder:: sorry, but she's my one illogical and hilarious fear

the AA looks incredible. really excited for this!

That is why I think that Ursala can't possibly be a real animatronic. They would never put something that amazing in a D ticket attraction. Obviously it is some trick.

I guess the April fools jokes are starting earlier and earlier every year.

I hate to burst your Mermaid bubble, but...

Jokes aside, I stand by my belief that ticket classification is proportional. But from a budgetary standpoint, Mermaid's totally E.

I thought I was the only one to think that! :) I honestly thought she'd move her head to look at him or the camera :lookaroun completely freaked me out!
Ursula is an epic Disney villian, she has attitude, and I loved her singing, but I used to fast forward the scene when she got totally huge...*shudders*
Can't wait to see this in person! Even though I'll probably not look at her for too long... :/

omg! thanks so much for sharing, she looks PHENOMENAL!
she's gunna make the "little ones" cry, as well as the Ursula in the stage show hahaha
i can not wait to see this ride for myself, TLM has always been my fave!

oh and the yeti? really?
why are there so many angry replies to something as wonderful as
this new Ursula AA? i understand the malfunctions of other AAs but c'mon.

we should be happy, this is good news, and something to be excited to see in the future.
