New Ursula AA (LM ride)

Fantastic figure. I love, love, love animatronics, and this one is incredible in its animated realism. That stretchy skin is unreal.

While I am definitely a heavy Universal supporter, I simply cannot deny that Disney continues to produce the top AAs in the business. Let's hope the Ariel AA(s?) are just as fantastic. Will probably have to make a trip out to the MK just to see this.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy my dragon and Imhotep AAs... :lookaroun

She is pretty spectacular. If anyone could pull something incredibly ingenious like her off it would be Disney. This just makes me more excited for the FLE. Can't Wait!!!!!

Jokes aside, I stand by my belief that ticket classification is proportional. But from a budgetary standpoint, Mermaid's totally E.

I agree. I get that the Mermaid ride doesn't have lap bars and shoulder restraints and a 40 inch height requirement that has somehow come to equate the neccesary ingredients in the 21st century for a ride to be classified as an E Ticket.

But even though there's no height requirement or warnings for people with heart conditions and expectant mothers to not ride, Little Mermaid on both coasts is budgeted and Imagineered like an E Ticket all the way. :sohappy:

The problem with your complaint is that there is nothing wrong with the AA (not AI, this isn't the matrix) yeti itself but the construction around it is faulty. These are two completely different things.
Apparently not correct.
My latest information would indicate that the problem with the Yeti is indeed a problem with the Yeti. The figure itself is the problem.
The structure is ok.

And sadly, it appears that they knew there was a problem from the very first day they switched him on.

Ursula looks great. Her scene will be a highlight of the attraction, I'm sure.

Well then, I stand corrected and admit I was completely wrong with my previous statement.

So, a design flaw with the AA and poor descision making led to this issue. I know they didn't want to delay the opening, but considering this is really their star attraction, that may have been advisable. Although, as others have said, I don't think this has adversely effected the bottom line up to now.

From what Lee eluded to in another thread they thought that they would be able to keep up with it with an increased maintenance schedule.....kind of like dealing with an oil leak by checking and adding oil more frequently...but it was not enough.

I don't find Mr. Potato Head entertaining :lookaroun

From my experience, I just don't think that they utilize him like they originally advertised they would. He was supposed to be interactive and talk to the people in the line. However, it seems that they rarely do that and just go with his pre-recorded spiel most of the time.

Whether in WDW or DL, he has always interacted with the guests when we went...

He was certainly interactive when I went in June 2010. He was making specific references to people as they passed. I guess it must depend if the voice guy's on his lunch break or not:wave:

Guess I haven't been lucky. I usually hear the same script over and over when I go. I hear him ask people their favorite ride and do the "Gimme a D" chant. Only on a few of my visits (and I have been on the attraction a number of times) has he interacted with people in the queue.

Looks fantastic to me! I notice that muscle/fat detail in her left arm. Very realistically done.

Not a lot of video of her tentacles. Obviously just a tease - I'm sure they'll look great too.

My biggest concern will be the skin on the AA. They talked about using stretchy velvet. Well, what happens when that tears? (As it will from hours of being stretched and un-stretched) In theory they should take the ride offline until it gets fixed, but judging by the fact that I have seen AA's missing whole parts of their props, I doubt that WDW will do this. So instead kids gets to see Ursula with a giant hole in her arm. Brilliant.....

Outside of that the AA itself looks amazing. Hopefully the rest of the ride is equally well done.

I make be wrong on this, but watching the video again, it looks the the velvet is used for the black part of her skin, and the purple part is rubber. They talked about using both.
