New Ursula AA (LM ride)

Ursula and Ariel are the only figures being done by WDI right? The rest is garner-holt.

That doesn't mean the rest are gonna suck, does it?

And another quick stupid question-why does the animatronic they are actually loading into the ride look so unpainted as opposed to the lavish original they were toying around with in the office?

My latest information would indicate that the problem with the Yeti is indeed a problem with the Yeti. The figure itself is the problem.

The structure is ok.

And sadly, it appears that they knew there was a problem from the very first day they switched him on.

That's fascinating! I'm sure there's an interesting behind-the-scenes story there.

Don't be so sure... Garner Holt does some excellent work.

I too have never seen Mr P-H interact with guests and only been on "Demo mode" that goes for both DL and WDW!

And with regards to the material they definitely meant the dress was velvity and the skin was rubber..... I really hope she can cope with the demand they/we require from her. If she can we're in for a treat.

Not sure at all...but animatronics of the same caliber as Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! or the Ice Age Adventure would be quite underwhelming.

That's more a function of what Disney was willing to pay for than what Garner Holt is actually capable of.

I thought WDI had completely gotten out of the AA building business. It would be much more economical to outsource it to companies that do it daily than to try and build one from scratch every ... what ten years?

Maintenance is one thing but building them could not be cost effective.

They still build the majority of the "hero figures", the signature AA's for any given attraction.

Really? The yeti was a foundation problem as it has been stated over and over in this thread. The Yeti was an unfortunate incident but you know what that was 2006 this is 2011 and we are moving on. Ursula and Ariel are going to be amazing so quit being a Debbie Downer.

Lee presented us with new information on the Yeti last week - according to the new information the issue with the Yeti is not structural but rather a lubrication issue with the figure itself. The issue apparently was known about on opening day and a new figure is being constructed.

Well at least they are attempting to fix it. Some of you people have lost so much faith in Imagineering and the company in general its frightening.

I think the lesson here is: The Internet is serious business.

Also: clothing is velvet, skin is rubber like material; this AA is amazing, but people are nervous it will stop working like the Yeti; general agreement that this makes the ride more exciting and helps build the anticipation for it; continued general skepticism towards WDI.

Did I miss anything?
