This new show looks awesome, but I can't help be sad that a lot of the stuff won't be visible from my favorite fireworks viewing spot on Echo Lake, I think @WDWFigment would agree too.

Sounds cool. I assume this is replacing Symphony in the Stars? I like the projections and how they are incorporating many star wars characters rather than just ones from the new movie. Not that I don't like The Force Awakens, I very much enjoyed it, but it's good to remember that there are 6 other movies and a better villian. I also wonder if there will be an interactive thing with glowing lightsabers or something like that. Doing that has proved pretty successful for other shows.

Even with cuts and closings, any additions are nice. We are hearing of a lot this week and will hear a bit more on Sunday. Sure, they're trying to lessen the blow of the terrible, unneccesary cuts and the upcoming price increase, but I will have to give them an ounce of credit for these small new offerings if they turn out to be good.

It looks to me like they are splitting the view into two sides, and the dark side doesn't get any fireworks. So, whether the asymmetry is by choice or unavoidable, seems like they can make it work.

I'm trying to think this through geometrically. The view from the entrance plaza for the park will be pretty awful, right? Seems you'd have to be in Center Stage. On Hollywood Blvd., fireworks would be way to the right and blocked by the shops in some cases, right? Crowd control could be an issue.

I really don't think there is much that can be done to make it look intentional. Whenever there are fireworks behind a central object, people are always expecting it to line-up.

I *think* what @marni1971 meant is that the new launch pad could line up more appropriately to a major weenie in the new Star Wars land.

I would imagine it will stay. They are spending too much on this for it to be temporary. If I had to guess, it is designed to stay AT LEAST until SWL opens.
