New Sound Stage Lounge At DHS

We just recently visited WDW with our friends and their family. They have very young grandchildren. I would have appreciated this lounge being opened at that time. There are few places at DHS to relax and beat the heat, and the crazy afternoon storms. I agree that the show is lacking. Perhaps they can paint the benches all brown to make them look wooden. Decorate the area with props from the shuttered attraction and pipe in the music from "Pirates of the Caribbean." Change the name from lounge to Port o' Call.

Very few....

Allow me to introduce you to backlot express, ABC Commissary, one mans dream, and the Animation building.

DHS has more places to sit and chill than any of the other parks

Thank you, however, I feel bad for taking up a table at a restaurant unless I'm eating there. Especially if the little ones are hot and fussy. I happen to think this lounge area is a good idea for small kids to cool down and perhaps get out some pent up energy.

I figured the closure of an attraction meant it was needed for imminent construction, but this may be the first sign of where Phase 1 of DHS' makeover will NOT be taking place.

It looks like this lounge was put together in a few days, like the Jack Sparrow set was awaiting demolition until a new set of plans came along that had the building sitting dormant for a while. (Otherwise, why didn't this lounge open in December 2014?)

I have no excuse for this. But from what I'm hearing, the building may be bulldozed before Christmas.

It is a utilitarian stop gap offering. It is an ugly temporary place to sit in the AC and charge your phone. It looks exactly like what it is.

It really looks like a few thoughtful CMs carried in a few benches, a couple of framed pics, and a trash can. If it weren't for the sign, I would think Disney didn't know it exists.

Half-joking, but taking a table away from a family trying to eat at the ABC is doing them a service. Worst food at the park :hungover:

Considering this space will likely be on the demolition list for Hollywood Studios 2.0 it makes sense to not add anything expensive or permanent. Courtesy comes before show so having the area open for the summer is more important than making it look pretty , saying that it really wouldn't have been too difficult to do more than hang a couple of pictures on the wall..
Agreed

Unless it's peak time on a peak day there's plenty of room

Understood, was merely referencing the comment at taking up the seating room in a restaurant. DHS is a graveyard most of the time so it isn't that much of a thing. Meanwhile over at MK you can't even look for a seat without having food at your hand without a CM telling you that you have to buy food first and shuffle in line like the cattle you are. Dreadful experience.

magical! thank you disney.. it seems you finally had whoever designed the new spaceship earth finale make something new! I wonder if theres any chance they add Push to the trashcan collection in that room?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I've never seen the Jack Sparrow attraction and heard bad reviews from it, but come on, it has to be better than this. You could've put Hiro and Baymax here or at least something adequate, but nooooope.
For what it was, Jack Sparrow was fine.
The effects were cool. The stomp your feet, clap your hands bit was lame.
