Not at all. I haven't heard anything bad about the Pre's except for their pre-launch/post-launch advertising (which was a disaster)
Build quality is pretty shoddy on a good many, they just need to get the freaking Pre3 out so I can retire my old and worn friend; but we are getting off topic.

Just got this email:
Dear Lee,
We appreciate the uniqueness of the email you sent to Tom Staggs and other members of our Leadership teams. We also appreciate your passion for the Adventurer’s Club and enthusiasm for our product offerings. We recognize that this ‘entertainment adventure’ was a unique experience and will certainly be missed by many loyal Fans, like yourself. Tom has personally spent a number of great evenings there and will miss it himself.
With that in mind, you will be happy to know that our Creative team is constantly exploring options for us to reintroduce the spirit of the Adventurer’s Club at our Walt Disney World Resort. It is too early to say when or in what form that might happen, but we will continue to look in the hope of finding the right opportunity.
Please also understand that a tremendous amount of thought went into our decision for the creation of a new vision for Downtown Disney®. As we look to the future, we are excited about the evolution that will occur over the next few years, introducing a brand new mix of shopping, dining and other opportunities for our Guests' enjoyment.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
Sincerely,
Ana Brady

Indeed.

I'm surprised Ana Brady even responded, let alone with the idea that Disney creative is trying to put the spirit back into the parks. A strange concept considering they were the ones to take it out of the parks to begin with.

Definitely a brush off letter.

"We appreciate the uniqueness..."

I like that you at least made them break out of their form reply mode, if only for an inch.

code for: we hate it when websites post the executives email addresses resulting in their inboxes getting blasted by fanatical outcries, and we don't actually appreciate you taking it upon yourself to send this email to our executive team whatsoever.

... also, don't expect to receive any more PIN codes going forward...

I didn't get a "sod off" letter....at least not yet...I only stay at a Deluxe resort one week a year, so I guess I don't count....:brick:

Exactly. "Thanks for e-mail bombing our executives, hopefully this scripted response will stop you and others like you. "

The first section is certainly a new response. But the rest of it is the same response they sent out when people first began complaining about the "upcoming" closure of the Adventurers Club. How can you tell:

>a unique experience and will certainly be missed by many loyal Fans, like yourself. Is certainly IS missed by many loyal fans, not will be missed.

>Tom has personally spent a number of great evenings there and will miss it himself. When will he begin missing it? It's been closed for nearly 3 years. If this was a fresh response, it would have been changed to say that he misses it, not will miss it.

Geez. After 3 years, doesn't AC deserve at least a fresh canned response?

Hey, it could have been worse. They could have offered as a thank you for the e-mail a special Adventurer's Club-themed bag of seed and mulch and an invitation to come help out when the time comes to bring that "bold new vision" to where the club currently stands...

Wait I see a new leave a mark program. You spend $50 to tear down part of PI and then lay down a strip of sod.

Am I missing something? IF I am reading the rumors correctly there isnt a chance we are going to get Mannequins, the Adventures Club or any of the others back as they were. The only issue being discussed is whether of not they are going to lease space in the new HYPERION WARF to a 3rd party interested in reopening one of the clubs. That being said there is no legal way the Adventures Club could return, but fortunately Mannequins does actually have a chance of returning under a different name and theme with much of the same awesomness it had before closing.

So when writing your letters, instead of building a case as to why Mannequins or The Adventures Club should re-open, be less specific and just share your support for more adult night time entertainment (a dance club or two) because that honestly is the only offering that I believe is being considered.

and that is exactly what I did:
Dear Tom,

I am writing to express my support and desire for nightlife to be reintroduced at the Walt Disney World resort. The closing of Pleasure Island left a gaping hole for college kids, single travelers, couples without kids and convention attendees. The beauty of the entire complex was that it had something for everyone’s musical tastes. As Downtown Disney evolves after the closing, I sincerely hope the venues that replace the clubs are allowed to offer dancing late at night. Nothing can ever replace Mannequins, which once won best club in the southeast, but I hope any new venues (ultra lounges perhaps?) can offer the same techno/dance music as Mannequins and perhaps another could offer 70’s and 80’s similar to 8-trax. I don’t know the validity of any rumors out there suggesting this is even on the table of possibilities, but I couldn’t resist taking the opportunity to express my desire to stop driving 15+ miles to dance (or worse, taking that money to that OTHER park) and bring that money back to Disney property.

Thank You,

<name>

yes I used first name because Disney is a first name company!

AWESOME JOB!!

QUESTION

So if a 3rd party were given permission to open a (1) new club on the island....I mean Warf....where do you feel the most likely location would be??? What do you guys think???

With the square footage I bet the old Mannequins space will be one of the last to go. Can you imagine what the rent would be??

Adventurer's club had two levels if I remember correctly, but was a more manageable size. I think the only way for a new club to really succeed in that environment is to be really unique.
