New Restaurant coming soon to Downtown Disney Area

The über-convenience store chain WAWA is building around Orlando now, including one at I-Drive at Central Florida Parkway near Sea World. I hear those are pretty good.

This is great news. I lived in PA with three WAWAs less then 10 minutes from me then moved to CT with no WAWAs at all. I'm going to be stopping there many times when I'm on the DCP in the fall.

Normally I am anti-chain although I do enjoy 5 guys burgers and the like.

Most chains will not allow a burger cooked to temperature, which is a bummer. As a wise chef once told me, "well done is overdone".
Plus a really nice sear of the beef over a hot grill really brings out the flavor.

All that being said I am sure I will stop by and it sounds like a decent partnership.

Did he happen to work at Jack inthe Box? I'd rather have a well done burger without the possible E. coli chaser. :hurl:

It's not a regular chain like 5 Guys, which I love too but it does cook to order. We have one here at Mohegan Sun casino and it's amazing. Since it's technically quick service (You order at a counter and they bring it to you) it's not super upscale but I think it's a step up from some place like 5 Guys.

Plus, we already have one Iron Chef why not another?
BBPs is great! A black-and-white milkshake would be more than welcome at Downtown Disney.

The Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti is one of the best I've ever had....no where near well done. If they can come close to that quality...it'll be a hit

LOVE Bobby's Burger Palace!! When I go to Mohegan Sun, we always eat at BBP! Love Mohegan Sun as well! :)

Love their shakes and the fry sauce! Yummy!

You hate Cold Stone Creamery?

I'm with you brother. I am not even an ice cream fan, if you can't find something delicious there you aren't trying. I know there are better places around but give me the choice between cold stone and DQ or friendlys... Cold stone will win every time.

Is it going to be replacing the T-Rex Cafe??? :( Because I heard that they were thinking of getting rid of it since it upset the little ones... :'( I would hope its not going any time soon... I haven't even gotten to go yet and it seems every chance I get to be around robotic dinosaurs gets screwed up...

I doubt they're getting rid of T-rex, and haven't heard anything that suggests they will :) (or, at least, none of the usual insiders on here have hinted at it...). Regardless of how the occasional individual child reacts, in general the restaurant seems to have been maddeningly successful, and Disney won't be removing anything maddeningly successful from Downtown Disney in its current state.

Along with the possibility that Landry Restaurants probably got a contract with Disney for quite a number of years. That is a pretty impressive building and one that I am sure they do not want to have to tear down any time soon. Besides, if it is bothering patrons so much they can just dial it back a little. It is all computer programmed after all.
