I wonder if they're gonna try to fix the water-projection issues. If I'm correct, this is the exact same system they're gonna use for RoL, no? So are they going to try and tweak this or just go with the flow?

It's possible that the ROL video is much more suited to the water screens. The Jungle Book video was never intended for projection on a water screen.

Nailing down which parks for which days/nights... October 29-Nov3....

In all of ya'lls collective opinions.... Should I even bother blocking out time for ROL or just half day AK like normal?

(I come from a city with an incredible zoo, so the animals aren't really something thats a huge draw for us.)

While I wouldn't be holding my breath for RoL, AK at night was really fun. Everest was awesome at sundown, some of the street entertainment is fun, and the tree of life was fantastic. Id make it a go early, take a nap, and then come back later type park.

As far as the projections go, the abstract designs look much better than the movie clips.

But the movie clips truly look awful. I watched the show from the bridge and asked a CM about the middle screen, which looked especially rough. She said it looks better from the theater - I don't buy that, but I guess that's the pat response - "it looks better from other sections of the viewing area."

I certainly hope so, but the wind has also caused problems with the water cannons meeting in the middle. Hopefully this doesn't become a show that can't operate (properly) in light winds.

I know Jungle Book was a temporary show thrown together extremely quickly, but it's concerning that they were unable to make HD movie footage look anything close to decipherable. I had seen the movie and still had to guess what I was seeing based on what I could hear. This alone should have been a reason to delay the show.

They must still be experiencing issues if late October or November is the estimated opening. Still wouldn't doubt, at this point, they may hold off opening until the busy holiday time begins. Disney is all about timing and promoting...

You're contradicting yourself. Yes, Disney is all about timing and promoting... which means it makes the most sense to announce ROL as early as possible and not premiere it during the "busy holiday time." You don't stack a new offering that will draw in guests with a busy time that will already be loaded with guests to begin with. You open the new offering during an otherwise slow time to bring people in who wouldn't otherwise be coming.

Groan. I think I'm going to miss it on my 10/29-11/4 trip. The holiday season starts the very next week.
