Rumor New nighttime show at Epcot

Personally I think the middle has improve a lot since they added new lasers to it. I still think it's one of the prettiest sections of the show.

Once you have seen it it doesnt hold my attention.. The middle bit is the weakest part. We weren't even bothered seeing this trip and only went because its likely to be replaced when we come back next year.

Remember, though, that for a large number of people, this may be the first and only time they're seeing it. I mean, I haven't seen it in 12 years, so I don't remember a great deal of specifics about it except that it impressed the heck out of me and scared my, then, two-year-old son out of his toddler mind. Max didn't like big booms.

In theory you could but it would be really impractical. If they needed to do something on the bottom of the lagoon they would build coffer dams which wall off a small area the can be drained.
Indeed. It’s not impossible technically but would be an expensive logistics nightmare.

Water body flows to DHS via YB

Boat craft and RoE craft need to be moved

Dam built to isolate Crescent Lake

No water taxis

SSE drainage diverted

Lagoon is naturally filled and would fill again
Etc etc

IGNITE would be the greatest nighttime show in Orlando if Happily Ever After didn't exist. I am continually blown away by how amazing it is every weekend! Who would've thought a sleepy park like SeaWorld could give a giant like WDW a run for their money in the nighttime show department?

Is it actually that good? I was very disappointed by SeaWorld's Christmas fireworks, although that could be because I didn't watch them from Bayside Stadium. But it just felt like absolutely nothing compared to Disney. I skipped Ignite on my trip last week because I thought it was going to be another letdown, but I guess that was a wrong assumption. Maybe next time I go, I should actually watch it from Bayside instead of over by the restaurants.

I know they alert nearby residents when the Magic Kingdom does pyro tests, do they do the same for EPCOT? Or are there not any nearby residents to alert?

I would start with a show that doesn’t have a 4-minute nap in the middle...
Reflections of Earth is well paced. The "lull" can be improved, but the pacing is there. If it's just 17 minutes of fireworks without any substance it's pretty to look at but has less substance.

I kind of liken it to DHS's Tower of Terror vs. Mission Breakout at DCA, both are enjoyable but Tower is better paced while Mission Breakout is more frenetic.

And I think Reflections of Earth’s greatest asset is its score, which provides its wonderful pacing, but it has suffered since 1999 from having a middle section that relies on visuals that are too small to be placed in such a large lagoon.

Personally, if they took the Drone and Fountain tech that sound like are coming with a new nighttime spectacular for Epcot and simply integrated them into the "Order" section of Reflections of Earth, I'd gladly see the show run for another 15-20 years. It's one of the best offerings ever to exist at Walt Disney World and I really have a hard time believing they'll do better . . . If they continue to update the show and keep it fresh I'd be pleased as punch.

Musically, narratively, and conceptually, there's no need to touch the show. Just breathe new life into what's there.
