Rumor New Monorails Coming Soon?

Easy if you'ver got the number of bolts and the number and thicknesses of the plates that are fastening it together

F ÷ (d x (t1+t2...)

but its not as simple of a construction as you've made it out to be. Each door section is attached by upper and lower arms.
I hate to mess up your formulas, but if the door is closed it’s not just the bolts holding it to the arms but also the latches the door slides into.

Let’s all take a deep breath.

Door appears to very likely have been open during boarding when a hit by the motorised electric vehicle causing it to sheer off, with side loads no door was be designed for.
Except it appears to be the door facing away from the loading platform, meaning it shouldn’t have been open.

Craaaaappp, yea, you're right.

Correct thing would be 368.74 x 2.24 = 825.98 N. And while it doesn't tell us if it can or can't push open the door, it does help point to a possible malfunction as it shouldn't be able to under normal conditions.
I was specifically going with the formula in the below article (which I found on several sites) that used a car impacting a cement wall, which seemed like a useful comparison to me... https://sciencing.com/calculate-force-impact-7617983.html

Does anyone know why the ECV's are not strapped down like they are on Disney buses? Maybe the person accidentally put it in reverse. Still scary. Without strapping them down this could have happen while in transit.
The train wasn't moving, it was either loading or unloading at the resort. Let's calm down the panic until we know what happened.

Like I said, it was either loading or unloading. Either one means the train was not moving, it was stopped.
Yeah I guess the question was what if something like this happened while it was moving. Imagine on a crowded train someone leaned over and accidentally pressed the lever and made the scooter slam into the door while it was in motion. These doors aren’t supposed to just fall off.

For sure, but, car doors aren't designed to fall off either, but, in an accident if they are struck in just the right place, they come off. That's why it is important to know exactly what happened before a whole bunch of panic talk is wafted about like there was some sort of massacre happened.

I am 100% for more panic if it means these trains are replaced sooner than later.

Looks like it’s getting a little media attention. Also a WDW spokesperson is confirming the basic details.

http://www.fox35orlando.com/home/fallen-monorail-door-at-disney-seen-by-guests

A Disney spokesperson says the door was being repaired, after it was hit by a motorized scooter when a passenger was boarding the stationary train.

So, it was banged into at loading, damaged in some way, and then removed by maintenance.

In the process of removal, someone takes a snapshot of the door hanging off the monorail and everyone supposes an EVC rammed open the door from the inside breaking several bolts like they were the Hulk in a wheelchair.
