So true, it's also crazy they are building an alternate route around the busiest retail corridor. Even if it is only open during peak times I'm shocked they are giving guests an option to skip Merch Street USA.
Funny, I hadn't even thought of that.
Makes it even more ludicrous that they wouldn't have back side access to retail. They're leaving an enormous amount of money on the table (but what else is new for TDO?).
Itll be just like having a new attraction.
Hopefully, they'll bring in some benches for this major press announcement ... which will of course, necessitate its own press announcement. It'll be BETTER than a new attraction. New attractions are for the cheap floozies who flock to Universal looking for "cutting-edge rides" and great "theming."
This, on the other hand, will be the largest exit expansion in the history of the Walt Disney World resort. It will tell the story of leaving the park in ways it has never been told before. You will be immersed in the act of leaving.
This, my friends, is genius - and it needs to be recognized, ideally with a major press announcement and possibly some celebrities who can show us how to best enjoy the new exit. I nominate NPH, Darth Vader and Oswald.
If the point is to create an expedited exit, wouldn't it seem more ludicrous to have entrances/exits to stores, creating additional bottlenecks?
Also, Disney hasn't even announced this project, so isn't it a bit premature to hate on something for which you haven't even seen plans? Unless you're just hating on Disney because wdwmagic.
That's what I tell people a lot when asked, just think of a non-drunk happy Bourbon St and that's what Main St USA is lol.I often compare Main Street during parade hours to Bourbon Street at Mardi Gras but without the drunks, beads to slip on and the horrible smell. Walk one block over; and it's smooth sailing. I think this is a great idea and a long time coming.
Hi Steve! and all my friends!! I've missed you!
Or, those stores could absorb people, lessening the rush to the entrance....If the point is to create an expedited exit, wouldn't it seem more ludicrous to have entrances/exits to stores, creating additional bottlenecks?

Excellent, will this be similar to the Arcades at Disneyland Paris? Hopefully they get the same type of theming.
Not just benches... Samantha Brown will be brought in to do a DVC site promotional video and a 1 hour special on Travel Channel...Hopefully, they'll bring in some benches for this major press announcement ... which will of course, necessitate its own press announcement.

And this thread was started by the site owner. For me, and others, that's as good as an announcement.
Well, duh.....No. You just are a h8r. You h8 WDW.
absorb? they will suck the wallets and souls out of them! lol!Or, those stores could absorb people, lessening the rush to the entrance....

I didn't see this posted anywhere else, but there are currently construction walls outside of Casey's Corner. For those wondering why so many walls surrounding that toward First Aid and the Crystal Palace, they are working on expanding and redoing the Hub walkways to help with traffic nightmares. This along with the bypass they are constructing are supposed to help give more defined walkways for traffic flow and allow other areas to fill in for more parade and fireworks viewing. Eventually, we will see more work done create more of a complete "outer ring" of the Hub.

Agreed. I've never been to Disneyland Paris but I just looked up pictures of the arcades after seeing your post and they're really cool.
BTW, I am in the midst of a long winter's hibernation in Europe, but wasn't this thing supposed to be open and ready for the Christmas crowds? Did that happen? Doesn't look that way.
