Does anyone else find that floodlight on top of that tower absolutely hideous?

What?!?!?!?!?
Southern California is sometimes hot!!!!
How many people have to be cooked alive before this stops?!?!?
PeopleMovers....all resorts and parks just need continuously moving Omni-movers to get people to/from all locations

Correct, it's a separate light atop its own tower, obviously not a permanent structure.Don’t think you are seeing that correctly.
It is not on the tower if you look closely you will see others just like it around the lot. The light pole is just lined up behind the gondola pylon.Does anyone else find that floodlight on top of that tower absolutely hideous?

Dang! Looks like "Go Away Gray" works pretty good... at least in my monitor's color profile...It is not on the tower if you look closely you will see others just like it around the lot. The light pole is just lined up behind the gondola pylon.
I used to think that the Eiffel Tower was WDW’s worst example of forced perspective - but then Beast’s 15 foot tall castle showed up.I agree too. And to my eye, the Eiffel Tower's forced perspective isn't compromised.
Have you ever been to Paris? I have twice and I never questioned the WDW version of Forced perspective. This was a model of a real structure that exists and in a large part of Paris that is what you see when you spot it from a distance. Now the castle, I never really thought it was bad, just didn't make sense that the castle would be so far away from Be My Guest, which is supposed to be in the Castle. That takes a lot of suspension of disbelief to deal with. But, it is a fictional place so we just go with the flow and doing that is believable if we don't over think it.I used to think that the Eiffel Tower was WDW’s worst example of forced perspective - but then Beast’s 15 foot tall castle showed up.
Wow...i haven't been keeping up with the progress on this, but just now i was looking at the recent photos posted and was surprised to see how far along they have come.
Looks like they are really moving fast on this project.
Is there a tentative date that has been hinted at for possible opening?
Just curious as to how far along this project will be by September of this year.

From across the lagoon, if specifically looking you can also make at the top of the new (gray) tower behind France.

I believe the correct term is Death Cable.Any word on when they're going to start stringing the haul rope?

Summer 2019.
Do you believe they'll keep up this pace, or will specialists have to leave the site in favor of ski resorts?Currently we may see a gondola or two moving this year.
I’d expect the system to be operational in 12 months give or take a week.
Guests riding would be 13-15 months away.
