MK does not run buses to the Monorail resorts.

Only when the monorails are down.
Yes, and in a few other instances. Again the point I was making though is even if they're not running a bus directly you can still travel by bus using alternate routes.

So here's a question, if MK resorts have monorail transportation, why do they also have boats?

There will absolutely still be bus service to alternate destinations. So yes as I and others have already stated guests could travel by bus by first transferring at an alternate destination.

So what do you think they would tell a guest booking the beach club who said they would not ride the boat to the studios?

You wouldn't tell a guest that, at least not in the way some here are saying that. You offer what you can. Do you work in customer service? There's a way you talk to a customer/guest. We can pull out every scenario and go over it if you want? LOL

Honestly I used to work at Y&B. It seemed to me the Epcot and DHS buses actually ran pretty often. That being said there is also a walkway and if someone really complained they would just drive them over. I don't agree with that, but that's just how Disney operates.

Exactly. You don't just tell a guest "sorry, book another hotel". But I do understand what Peter is trying to say overall, but you don't say that to a guest. I'm sure they would but that's bad customer service.

You wouldn't offer scenarios and options that don't exist. You would explain the options at that resort which in the beach clubs case is only boat unless the guest is able/willing to walk. Otherwise you would offer the ability to take a bus elsewhere and transfer to the studios. If that is not desirable then yes, offering a different resort that meets the guests needs would be the best customer service.

Won't most people who are afraid of heights have their own vehicle at WDW? After all, did they fly in on a plane that goes much higher?

I'm not fond of heights but I can easily look out a plane window, I always choose the window seat. Everyone has different degrees of fear. Personally, going on a cruise ship helped me overcome a lot of fear. I would often get nervous on simple escalators and stairs but now have no problem. Doesn't mean I'm going to look over when Everest is taking me up as high as it does ...

Exactly, you'd offer different scenarios, not just book another resort as you had past stated, and not say it the way that's been said on here, that's all I was trying to say. Another resort is the last option. You acted as if you should just shrug your shoulders and say "oh well, book another resort, we don't care". So why question what I was asking when we agree?

I know that. And my original posting about this was saying that these resorts will loose business because of the gondola if they do not still provide bus service. I can just see people booking Pop or AOA and freaking out because their child or grandpa refuses to go on the gondola. I think Disney will have to make it very very clear that the gondola is the only transportation that is provided to those 2 parks at these resorts. And it does not have to be all or nothing. They can still have some bus service but maybe make it every hour or so.

Judging by logic and Disney's historical behavior they won't have duplicative transportation service. If you stay at the monorail resorts, the only way to get to Epcot is by monorail. They don't offer bus service to accommodate people that are afraid of the height of the monorail. Remember, Disney transportation is complimentary, but it doesn't mean they're obligated to offer transportation that suits everyone's need to go everywhere. If you are trying to go from resort to resort late at night you may be required to take a taxi if the buses to Disney Springs are no longer running.

The goal of this project is to alleviate bus traffic around the resort. Continuing to offer bus service isn't going to happen, and the number of people that won't book at these hotels because of that are severely outnumbered by the people who will book there specifically for the gondola option.

I thought you were referring to options a CM would give someone who was complaining about gondolas? Actually on second thought though they would probably just move the guests to All Star.
I was referring to options when booking specifically. But if a guest complained once at the resort a lateral resort transfer would be a potential option.
