It won't affect anything, they won't notice if you choose another resort, but it's easy to be dismissive of someone afraid of heights when you don't understand what they go through ... I've been afraid of heights but have overcome a lot of it, a lot of things don't bother me anymore. Some of it is mind over matter. But don't be so dismissive of something when you don't understand what someone goes through. They're allowed to be disappointed if busses no longer serve the gondola resorts because they're afraid of the height factor. I'm iffy on the gondolas too but I'll be right on one of them as soon as I can. But that's me. Others have a more intense fear. I'm not saying this should affect any of Disney's plans, of course it shouldn't, but ya'll get way too short and dismissive at times.

Well, I was more asking that as a question just to confirm. As I said, I've had a fear of heights, I get it. Others don't but they shouldn't be so dismissive.
Agreed.

As mentioned, I don't think Disney will be dismissive either. If they were, they wouldn't go to the lengths they do to accommodate guests with special needs.

It may not be "full time bus service" like today, but I find it hard to believe they would leave those guests stranded at their resort. It's in their best interest to get the guests to the parks and spending money.

I know said plan is to reduce/remove the busses from those resorts serviced by the gondolas, but I too have a hard time believing there won't be one single bus that serves any of those resorts, at least not initially. It doesn't even have to do with the height factor for guests but this is something they'll likely reverse their stance on. I know, others will say "but it's the plan" ... we'll have to wait and see. They could offer a bus for a price, like the express transportation, or the Disney-uber service ... so, we'll see what they do. If enough guests complain, you better believe they'll have a bus service the resorts. They won't, like some on here, tell you to book another resort.

I agree. You would think they would need another mode of transportation for these resorts. I know it is a different price range, however, look at the Magic Kingdom resorts. The Poly has monorail, buses and boats.

I don't think I would lose any sleep over it. Florida has been known for it high winds from time to time. There will be moments that will not allow the gondolas to operate, for that they will need alternative things, be they boats or buses. They also, I'm sure of this simply because it's common sense, have an alternative method running regularly perhaps on a limited schedule. It would be mega-stupid to not provide alternate possibilities. However, since it is novel, the Gondolas will get the majority of usage. Sort of like the choice of Monorail or Ferry at MK.

Disney has plenty of other non-gondola served hotels to accommodate the relatively minor portion of the public that are afraid of heights.

I know that. And my original posting about this was saying that these resorts will loose business because of the gondola if they do not still provide bus service. I can just see people booking Pop or AOA and freaking out because their child or grandpa refuses to go on the gondola. I think Disney will have to make it very very clear that the gondola is the only transportation that is provided to those 2 parks at these resorts. And it does not have to be all or nothing. They can still have some bus service but maybe make it every hour or so.

I don't understand why everyone is making a big issue of this, they're still going to have busses.

It is far from everyone. Just a few doomers who can't stand that the mouse is winning.
I mean I don't like the idea of a gondola system. I'm not afraid of it and it's better than busses. They're still going to have busses, just like MK has busses to monorail resorts. If anyone has an issue with it they'll just ride the bus. This whole thing is a giant non-issue.

As is most everything discussed around here. We don't know the details, so lets guess! And lets guess based on the worse case scenario because we all know how to run a vacation resort unlike those high paid ninny's that work for Disney. If we were to let those in the know run it, it would be huge. They could easily make Disney great again.

According to sources here they will not.
They will definitely have bus routes set up for any downtimes or other issues. Even if they don't run busses to gondola destinations directly on a regular basis, there are alternate routes through changing buses.

Or are these "sources" claiming that everyone at these resorts will HAVE to take the gondola and then ride a bus from where the gondola takes them? That doesn't make too much sense.

According to sources were were going to have a completely refurbished Imagination by now. Let's go with things that make sense. I guess it depends on what the final configuration ends up being like. Right now, it would be fool hardy to limit it to just one system, just like the Monorails started out to begin with and ferry service became necessary. They can easily make a bus setup a secondary setup by limiting the numbers. Eliminate them completely and the line at Guest Services will reach all the way to the entrance of Universal.

MK does not run buses to the Monorail resorts.
