New Frozen Show replacing Aladdin at DCA

I love Aladdin, but I am not sad to see a new show come in. I loved Beauty and the Beast back in the 90s too, but I wasn't sad to see it go. I personally think they should rotate shows more often. I think it would be awesome if they changed them up every 2-3 years, and made versions based on all the different animated musicals. I would also love to see a park version of Mary Poppins. Frozen certainly wouldn't be my first choice, but it is still ridiculously popular, so it makes sense. I just hope they aren't planning to leave there for the next 12 years.

I'd honestly rather it be a musical aimed at little girls than a musical aimed at morons. Because that's what Aladdin is. All I remember was this stout annoying fellow in a bad suit making unfunny self-deprecating fat jokes and continually referencing celebrities and things I don't know or care about. It's for idiots. Yes, the Disney people behind the show think that every single one of you in the audience is an idiot, which is why the content is jokes about Jay-Z in an elevator and Kardashians.

No offense.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read.

A lot of us can't stand Frozen because it is EVERYWHERE. I didn't mind the movie at first, I never thought it was great, including the music, but it's been nearly two years since it was released, and now I hate it. Disney has put its sole focus into Frozen and it's starting to cloud their already not so great judgement. So far at the DLR, Frozen has replaced Tangled and Beauty and the Beast at Fantasy Faire, one of the movie references in Storybook, the Muppets, Mad T Party (Freeze the Night was a complete failure and thankfully Mad T was brought back), the majority of the character drawings in the Animation Courtyard, and now Aladdin, which pretty much doesn't have any recognition at all in the parks, especially after this decision. Frozen has its own window on Main Street, has its own pre-parade float in Soundsational, has the tallest float in Paint the Night, and its own segment in Disneyland Forever. The whole damn "Let it Go" song is in World of Color: Celebrate!. The. WHOLE. Song. That alone is unforgivable. All of the souvenir sippers at the snack carts have been Frozen-themed for two years. There's also a Frozen sing-along in DCA. Oh, and about a month ago, I found out the IHOP across the street from the DLR has Frozen posters hanging in both the men and women's bathrooms. Forgive us for being sick and tired of the Frozen nonsense.

Disney has had two animated films come out since Frozen, yet it's like they don't exist. I've had it with this IP. There's already too much representation of this film in DCA. The madness must end. I received a survey in regards to the DLR a few days ago to which I haven't started. Thank God I haven't, I am going HAM on it this weekend.
Woooooooooooo! Go @raven24! Put that exact rant in your survey!

True it is everywhere! However I am not so sure if it because it is super popular or simply because it is in the clearance stores at cheap prices! There is defiantly an over abundant supply of cheap Frozen merchandise in the stores. My 5yr dd is just not that into Frozen and honestly neither are her friends. Belle and Cinderella still reign supreme with her. The Frozen stuff is just jammed in their faces and when it is on an end cap for a $1 they know their chances are good.

I just don't understand of all the IP's why not choose something a bit more gender neutral.

I'm with you. Boys can be made into pirates now, but in the past there was nothing for them. Not sure how into the princesses they are.

Except Olaf didn't make any pop culture references in Frozen. Genie on the other hand did in Aladdin. So in that case, the show is/was just being true to the scource material.
No. Olaf repeatedly asked people to chase his butt for him.

Oh, and I can't wait for the booger and nosepicking jokes to fly.

Gotta find your comedy somewhere!

Well, Aladdin (for the time being) will live on with the Disney Cruise Line...at least for now.

I honestly believe the show will eventually come to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
BatB isn't nearly the production level of Aladdin. And the sing along, for us, filled an empty theater and breathed some life into a dying section of the park (even if it's just a cold winter wind and short lived). Even the Frozen Summer Fun stuff wasn't too over the top, and the fireworks were spectacular.

For DHS, it works...at least for now. For DCA...well, I'd think not.

I wouldn't be too upset at that, personally (it replacing BatB).

Wait...are you talking about Frozen? Because I was talking about Aladdin. Yeah, in hindsight, I should've specified.

There isn't a theater at DHS that could hold Aladdin. They would have to spend a ton of money to convert an existing space or create a new one. Aladdin will live on at DCL, and that's it.
