New EPCOT DVC?

Flatten it. Again.
That still doesn't solve the transportation issue. There would have to be have to be a designated parking lot somewhere with boat service to get to the hotel, but the hotel is then a potential hazard if there were a fire or any emergency. It's just not practical.

DVC's are like Social Programs...you buy into it, but only the first generation sees the benefits.
I don't know. My kids get to enjoy it a lot more than I do and they don't foot the bill.;)

You bring up some good points, I hope that whatever Disney does in Epcot, that it FITS, like the hotel in Mediterranean Harbor. I don't want some BS DVC; I want one that is so beautiful, well themed/integrated, and futuristic that I actually regain faith in Disney.
I can't imagine they wouldn't theme it properly. I still don't think most fans will be happy.

The theming at BLT, especially the top lounge, is exceptional. On my last stay, a few of us went up there for the fireworks, had some appetizers and drinks, and had a great time. After a long day at MK, it was a great way to relax and unwind. I wasn't around for the Contemporary lounges of the 70's with live entertainment and jackets only -- but the experience we had at BLT was remniscent of what I imagine the 70's lounges were like, sans live entertainment. Just good old fashioned family time and terrific atmosphere and service. (Which is why we also spend a lot of time at Hoop Dee Doo!)

My point is -- if they do build another DVC (Epcot or not) -- I am sure the theming, location, and quality will be exceptional.

Ok, here is the thing... EPCOT already has 2 DVCs attached with their own entrance into the park (Boardwalk & Beach Club). The only park now that does not have an adjacent DVC is Hollywood Studios. Would it not make more sense to build a new DVC there in back of the tower of Terror...Where they once rumored a themed hotel to match the Tower of Terror.... It could have an old Hollywood theme like they have done for the Hong Kong hotels, it could have it's own entrance and views of Fantasmic nightly... They would have to rearrange the area back there and move a power grid, but it already has it's own driveway...and if they are reinvesting in Hollywood Studios, it would seem to make sense...

Thats a great theme to approach.

I always considered the Boardwalk a Hollywood Studios DVC. It is a 5 minute walk from the pool to the park.

I would not be too sure of exceptional...Look at Saratoga Springs...there is nothing exceptional about that resort except it has an exceptional amount of rooms and an exceptionally vague theme that makes no sense in Florida...DVC has had some hits and some misses.....

Boardwalk counts. Its a 5 minute walk to Studios.

Really it is not considered a Hollywood Studios Resort... It has no separate Entrance into the park, It just has a sidewalk that goes there... They do not market it as a DHS resort either...but DVC's Old Hollywood

I disagree -- SS has terrific theming -- very authentic to the early 20th century upstate NY resorts. In terms of theming -- having a Polynesian makes no sense in Central Florida using your logic. Thats the magic of Disney. The quality of the rooms (i.e., marble countertops, Kholer faucets, lavish beds, etc.) are on par with any Deluxe resort, and even better than some (Polynesian's outdated, small rooms). The amenities are easily accessible and plentiful (Artist Palette, outdoor activities, easy check-in, etc.). The grounds are pretty nice -- with fountains and flowers, as well as quick and easy access to DD. There is also a great Spa there as well as MULTIPLE large pools with slides. A great value for the cost vs. using points at a monorail DVC.

I am not saying SS isn't without faults -- but it is certainly not a dump or poorly themed.

Saratoga Springs is one of those things...Some people really love it...I don't get it.
The Polynesian evokes an exotic port of call... an easily understood theme that most people understand when you say the name.... I did not grow up in Upstate New York... Saratoga Springs evokes nothing to me... Horse themed but no stables or actual horses... Northern architecture that is neither whimsical or particularly more interesting than a very nice apartment complex... I have been there, stayed there and was underwhelmed.
no one stays at a Disney resort because they have Kholer Faucets, and none of the Disney resorts have lavish beds...seriously...even the most expensive rooms at Disney do not have great beds.

I'm a Saratoga fan. Love the pool, the hot pool, and the fact that it was once part of the 70's grandeur of LBV. The golf pro shop is a must-see for any 70's WDW afficionado it's as if they never changed with the times. Howver the transition from Turf Club to Artists Palette is so jarring. Artists Palette needs to be improved as it seems early 2000's and in my opinion is more dated than Turf Club and the pro shop. I hope this pro shop never changes at all! Long live 70's LBV!
