Agreed again! I mean, while it has been 21 years since the last country was added, I never really thought much beyond the fact that I wish that there were more attractions in the WS. The fact that I can't just skip the WS when going to WDW or Epcot shows that it is very good as it is. But it would be really nice for some sort of an update.

Oh was it Iran? I thought it was Iraq... either way. We should get Venezuela to replace the Refeshment Port. It would have a big rock waterfall with a restaurant behind it. Looking out a big window into...the backside of water!

Yes, Belgium. (Ahem!) That turned out to be an April Fool's Day joke, which I fell for, of course. But I would like to see another country or two added to World Showcase. The most likely countries are the ones that have already been mentioned: Australia, Russia, Spain, and/or Switzerland.

If Switzerland does go through, it has been rumored that it'll feature a Matterhorn roller coaster ride.

It has also been suggested that instead of World Showcase, Australia become part of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

We can only hope.

I believe that was a rumor...But it may have been considered.

Israel was plotted out and also appeared in the Millennium Village.

3) Second, someone needs to pay for the pavilion and staffing and costs.
4) Not too many companies want to invest $10-million to $20-million. *
5) And, only Morocco is sponsored by the country or government.

A quick look at the population list castevens posted, and Brazil looks like a great choice. Tons of material there for a new country and it would have a much different look/feel that the other countries in WS.

On a disney trip about 15 years ago, one of our Disney bus drivers was talking about the planned countries they were going to add....he brought up Switzerland with the Matterhorn ride and Egypt with a pyramid ride. Every year we would go back and I would look for them or at least the evidence of the work, and nothing ever I still wonder if that was a rumor of the time or if the driver was just messing with us.

I would love to see any new country, I think Greece in particular would be great. Such a beautiful country, and they could do something mythological and have the added bonus of a tie in with Hercules. Not to mention, a Greek restaurant would likely do good business, with all the focus on healthy eating. However, I think I'll probably cruise around Greece before Disney adds a new country to showcase!
