New country in world showase?

Oh my gosh... in addition to my previous post about adding Egypt or Greece, I almost just said add Italy but then I remembered it's already there! For me, it's kind of easy to miss.

It's disappointing to me, especially being Italian.
No attraction...just shops and a restaurant that I've heard mixed reviews about.

They could have a great attraction about Italy's history, Rome, artists and sculptors, gondolas, food, landscapes, Mt. Vesuvius ...but no.
It's too bad really.

I agree the Italy pavillion is deffinately missing something...a lot, its such an amzing country but the pavillion doesn't really do it justice....shame really

Info is sketchy at best; we know it had a small darkride, a theatre and a waterside bar. That could be a multitude of plots, and Epcot plots move more than pieces in a game of chess.

Here`s what I do know - note Africa has had 2 different proposals, Switzerland was moved depending on Africa or Italy having water rides to share the infrastructure, the UK has had a phase 2 and phase 3 proposed, and Russia was moved when the EPCOT Resort area was planned.

That is so like Martin to make a map for us of the locations of unbuilt pavilions in WS. :lol: Thanks.

With AUSTRAILA going to AK you could place a replica of the Sydney harbor bridge to take you into the land, this would also give imagineers a place to do some sort of controlled night time laser + light show.

As for EPCOT, I LOVE the idea of an Egyptian theme showcase. They could build the Great pyramids as a back drop and the Sphinx as well. Create a new dark adventure ride, maybe sort of like the Indiana Jones at DL or more of a hybrid high-speed coaster / boat adventure.

Start out by boarding on the banks of the NILE then as you are floating peacefully down the Nile, the rapids pick up and take us over a 100 fot drop over a water fall.. BUT the Nile opens up at the bottom and swallows our boat taking us deep into the pyramids through an ancient secret tunnel, then the ride becomes more of a high speed coaster ride through the pyramids. Escaping the curse of an evil Pharoh...

It needs details worked out but the groundwork is there.:wave:

I do not think the Sydney Harbor Bridge would be a very good transition into Australia if it is to be at AK. It would just stick out like a sore thumb.On another note the culture between the U.S and England and Australia are really not the same and the Opera House is a one of a kind design. So there is a lot there other than the outback. I realize everyone wants Australia in Ak, all I was saying is that it would be able to fit nicely into Epcot too. Egypt and Greece just have more well known landmarks such as the pyramids and so on. I personally would like to see Brazil go into Epcot. There is no South American country at disney(other than the tour groups).
