Just popped in to say....Palm trees in Fantasyland?
Yes, please!:sohappy:
The greatest ride to ever reside in Fantasyland had them, so it makes sense that the only really good part of the new FL gets them too.

Tell the stupid princesses to get out of the way. They're blocking my view of the palm trees.

Best post here.

And magic carpets are in "aladdin" but you complain about them being in Adventureland.
Yes, because they don't fit. How does that work here? The palms fit the area fine because the movie setting had them too. You obviously leave the "forest" area of Fantasyland, and head to the beach. Simple.
I've explained this several times in this thread. Tropical settings are not consistent with the overarching theme of the new FL IMO. It is important for a land to be cohesive. Just look how many people complained about the PatF parade going through Liberty Square. That was because the time frame was off. Same idea with putting palm trees in the new FL.
Which will have a beach.
I've traveled a bit and the terrain/topography and architecture are most definitely not southern France. IMO.

This isn't France. It's Fantasyland.

Honestly, I could careless about the palm tree. I just wanted to get across the fact that the tour is not a dream sequence, which I feel that I have.

I don't care what trees they plant as long as the attraction turns out good. :D

I've just post the art again to ES's thread. Don't see a beach.

I'm sure flying on a carpet is an "adventure" so how do they not fit? Turned it right back on you.

TLM takes place on the shores of the Mediterranean. That area does have palm trees. Case closed.

The following picture is in France:

And if a beach doesn't fit with the rumored name of "Fantasy Forest' how does a circus?

Sorry, but I'd need a little more proof than just you claiming it. In fact, I'm confident you are wrong that the movie takes place in France.

I agree with you. From pictures I have looked at online, the architecture is inline with what you see in the movie.

Flotsam and Jetsam looking like moray eels, combined with the landscaping makes for a more subtropical climate. While I would say it is futile to mark one exact location, the Mediterranean seems to have been a strong source of inspiration for the film's art.

South Seas/Tropical/African looking areas with lots of trees, lush gardens...and BAM, a attraction from a dessert in there with Arabian theming. It does not work.

And "Flying" a carpet is hardly an adventure compared to the rest of concept that is explored in the land.

With TLM, it's all European. There are going to be a "inland" area, and then we move to the sea. What do you find at the sea? Palm Trees. What do you want? Pines and Fur Trees on the Sand? THAT would clash.:lol:

Like I said, just mix many similar plants to the trees of the Mediterranean (palms, dates, willows, etc.). It would be cohesive and the average tourist will not know!

Oh, and just for the heck... From Mediterranean Harbour in Tokyo DisneySea: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...eySea_-_26.jpg/800px-Tokyo_DisneySea_-_26.jpg

(Spot the palm... :lookaroun)

Not to mention the other sea life shown in the film. And with the culture, I agree for the Mediterranean as a strong influence.

Well then they need to use the one palm tree that is native to southern Europe to be agriculturally correct. They only grow to a limited height and would not tower over Belle's village or Cindy's chateau. Problem solved.:)

The details matter and I will not sell out! :(

Finally, you agree that the tree is from the area. :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Me? :lookaroun

It's a discussion. People used to have them all the time.

A discussion involves one person actually stating their point of view. You were disagreeing and not giving any reasoning as to why. You got to the point of saying yes and no because you had been painted into a corner and had noway of defending your POV because it was proven wrong. When you've been licked, say so. You do argue for arguing sake.... I don't think you even realize it.

Woah... Lol. It's just trees people. The attraction will be great, let's try and calm down. Haha.
Exactly. I could care less if palms show up. It's just the audacity and nit picking that drives me nuts.

I don't get it. You go from being passive and jumping up and down for TDO every five seconds, not having these high standards...to freaking out over foliage. Which is it? Why the flip flop? Is there consistency here?

Audacity and the picking of nits? On these boards? Say it isn't so. That would surprise me almost as much as someone arguing just for the sake of arguing. And that NEVER happens here. Um, right?
