Audacity and the picking of nits? On these boards? Say it isn't so. That would surprise me almost as much as someone arguing just for the sake of arguing. And that NEVER happens here. Um, right?

Especially since one person seems to have nothing better to do.

;)

Yep.
And I feel like I should ask the obvious question....
Sebastian? What is a Jamaican lobster doing in the new Fantasyland?!?!?
It doesn't fit!

Me thinks the only thing that does not fit in Fantasyland is reality.....

Finally, you agree that the tree is from the area. :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

A discussion involves one person actually stating their point of view. You were disagreeing and not giving any reasoning as to why. You got to the point of saying yes and no because you had been painted into a corner and had noway of defending your POV because it was proven wrong. When you've been licked, say so. You do argue for arguing sake.... I don't think you even realize it.

I clearly stated I could be wrong, wasn't positive etc. Not sure how that can be seen as arguing. By the way, I heard there was a manatee in one of the LM spin offs so obviously everyone has been wrong about the geography. Go ahead, admit you were wrong.

Exactly. I could care less if palms show up. It's just the audacity and nit picking that drives me nuts.

I don't get it. You go from being passive and jumping up and down for TDO every five seconds, not having these high standards...to freaking out over foliage. Which is it? Why the flip flop? Is there consistency here?

One ride on the non-futuristic test track and you convert to DoM-ism.

Sad.

Could be a West African Manatee.

Honestly, I didn't know that a manatee even liked salt water or were featured in TLM. That said, if someone can provide me with proof that what I said is wrong, I will easily admit that I was/am wrong. At this point, nobody has.

One thing that can be said is that it is clear that palm trees are in Europe and that Arial did not experience a dream sequence. At the end of the day, that is what I was concerned with.

There's a character named Benjamin in The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning that many people assume is a manatee. But since his species is never mentioned in the film, he could just as easily be a dugong. Dugongs are nearly identical to manatees and live in salt water.

I can't believe I actually took the time to write this. :ROFLOL:

Manatees live in salt water part of the time. However, neither dugongs, manatees or sea cows live in the med.

Not to mention penquins!

Case closed. I win the thread. :sohappy:

By the way, I found out that killer whales are sometimes seen in the mediterranean (sp?) sea. Go figure!

On to the next challange. :lookaroun

AHA! Dugongs used to live in the Mediterranean, but are now extinct!!!! They are of the same species of manatees! They would have lived during the time frame the movie takes place!!!! :D

Penguins? Another one I haven't seen in the movie. However, they have found some ancient drawings of them inside caves in the south of France. Just sayin..... :lookaroun

I just don't get why there's a freaking Castle at the end of a Victorian Main Street, Lee! What was Walt Disney thinking?! Answer me that!

Pot, Kettle?

Did you read at all where I said though it's a fun ride, it does not fit? Your delusions and instigating remarks are more apparent than ever...don't fret, I'm not angry though. You usually don't have that effect. :)

Don't see how this ties into our lovely talk on Manatees, Ice Ages, The Industrial Revolution and the heinous Palm Trees.

But if this is what gets you to Doom and Gloom, go nuts, jay. Your inconsistencies provide great comic relief for the forums!

I aim to please.

So what you are really trying to say without actually saying it, is that little clown fish over at the Seas is growing on you. Isn't it?

Where do we get that foolishness? Not in the slightest. Didn't ride this trip, Don't plan to on the next, or any following. I saw my fill last year.

Maybe the same for Test Track. I have not made up my mind, and despite it's obvious shortcomings as a thematic addition to future World, it is fun. We shall see.

Now...what the heck does this have to do with Fantasyland!? :)

If any place should strive to offer immersive consistent theming it is the castle parks. That is what seperates Disney parks from all others. That is what works on so many levels. So, take how you feel about characters in Future World and apply that to having inconsistent themes in the MK. Of course I think it is even worse in the castle parks to not maintain the illusion. But you are so Epcot-centric I am sure you won't understand. Now I know how epcotservo feels. :brick:

Well, as pleased as I am to be compared to someone that I respect so much....I still think that this landscaping with the Palms will be immersive and consistent, seeing that it's a beach setting. You see palms on a beach, right, jt?

This thread has been an interesting one. I'm so proud of myself for starting it.

Anyway, I agree with EPCOT Explorer on the whole I think it will be consistent.

Thanks!

That I do. As I have mentioned before, Nemo is a fine PART of the pavilion so as to placate his demographic. However, as the whole pavilion? No. With that, there is no overriding theme of Futurism, which seems necessary in a land dubbed Future World. Something tied to man or even technology is needed to fix that pavilion. Let's not turn this thread into that debate, though. DisneyParksfan1 started it for Fantasyland.:)

Don't trip!

How does children from all of the world singing a random song fit into Europe?

How does a flying elephants whose story which takes place in USA fit into Europe?

How does a movie that takes you to Africa, and the Middle East fit into Europe?

Just sayin.... :lookaroun
