New 40th Parade and Castle show

I have a bad feeling that the new parade will be Disneyland's current joke of a parade.

Actually no. There are 5 main Floats: Tiana, Mary Poppins, Little Mermaid, Princess Float, and the Mickey Minnie Float. The 4 drums are probably are going to be the C!asp floats as they are about the same size and the 5 main floats are alot longer and bigger than the current C!ASP floats.

Why can't Celebrate A Dream Come True just go away forever. It's a joke (not as big of a joke as Move It Shake It Celebrate It) but still a joke. I hate the music, and the floats. We need a fresh new parade for the Magic Kingdom.

I agree. I don't see how people could appreciate the Dreams Come True parades so much.

The Princess Romance Unit is going to be broken up yet again. It will just feature the Fairy Godmother and the first Cinderella section. The Ariel and Belle units will be taken out, similar to how the parade ran from 2004 up until 2006. All the other Royal Couples will be put on the God awful Castle Float. It will feature :

-Tiana and Naveen
- Belle and Beast
-Ariel and Eric

What's odd is that Aurora and Phillip won't be included with the other couples. Also, the princes may not be joining their ladies on the castle float. Goofy and Donald will move to the street in front of the Mickey and Minnie float a long with all the characters that currently walk in front of the finale castle float unit. Baloo and King Louie will be taken out of the parade, and the White Rabbit and Queen of Hearts will be added to the parade and placed in front of the Peter Pan/Alice unit. Unfortunately it seems that there are no plans to put the Villains Float back into the parade. These changes will apparently take place on August 9th.

I had heard about the character changes but not all the details of the float changes... interesting... haven't seen the parade in over a year... and haven't missed it at all... I REALLY hope the parade for the 40th is completely new and on the scale of Tokyo, DLP, or Disneyland parades (mean PoD and hopefully Soundsational, Celebrate a Street Party does not count as a parade IMHO). This parade was ok when it first came out but not great and has only gotten worse and VERY stale over time

But seriously, that description is a spot-on representation of most WDW (specifically MK) entertainment these days. Kinda sad how predictable/generic/marketing buzzword-based everything has become.

Creativity at WDW these days seems to be an all time low.

I really don't know, I just can't understand TDO sometimes. Actually all the time. They are cheap.

Well, the 40th anniversary event would be a resort wide thing right? I think TDO (or Glendale who will later inflict pain upon TDO) should make a new parade or a Jungle bash street party considering they havent even tried to spruse up that parade. They should also make a plan for that park and announce it by the time of the 40th.

They could actually make Indiana Jones a real stunt show with a script

New fireworks at MK like 40 years of Wonder (working title)

The new castle show could feature a few characters from this generation......nah

Epcot could possibly pick a flippin' theme by that time (giant worlds fair, or Cultural finatic)

Epcot could get an E-ticket in world showcase






Ok most of that wont happen, but maybe it would be within budget to put the characters back in normal attire in DAWM:sohappy:

I didn't even realize that it will be the 40th. Yeah...I will be there, too.

As far as a new parade and show...i'm sure Disney will do something to commemerate such a great accomplishment. The castle show....I like them but I agree that taking the stage away and having the castle just be the castle would be superb. I'm thinking they will keep the same parade but add 40th ribbons and new music. Maybe a few new floats, too but not so sure about a whole new one. They may even change the name but keep a lot of the old aspects. It takes a lot to create a brand spanking new parade. Remember the 25th anniv? The pepto pink cake, banners and same music in every park..."Remember the Magic" byt Brian McNight, I think.

No matter what they do, I am sure I will love it. I can't wait until the trip!!!!
