NASCAR in WDW? It Can’t Get Any Better Than This-A February 2012 Unexpected Trip…Report!

Intro:
Welcome everyone to this unexpected trip report!!! As you may have read in my pre-trip report, this trip was made 11 days prior to leaving due to me getting an interview for a job down in Walt Disney World!!! It was for a part-time attraction job, but I’ll get into more details when we get to that part of the trip.

So here are the details:

The cast:
Me and my mum Diane (LuvsTheMouse). This is a picture from our Sept/Oct 2011 Trip

We are both Disney lovers and our 14th trip together! And Mom’s 15th she went once when she was a kid.

The dates: January 31-February 4, 2012

The resort: Port Orleans French Quarter

Let the memories begin!

Phew! After all that walking we were hungry for a dole whip float! Mom got the orange and I got the pineapple.

We went back into Fantasyland to cash in our fastpasses for Peter Pan!

We got stopped a few times and this was the only decent picture I was able to get

Before we scoped out a spot for MM&Y and Wishes, we went on our final ride of the day, the TTA! It was around 7 pm when we got off and we went to go find a spot for Wishes. We weren’t really sure where to go but we ended up on that off the beaten path that runs between the hub and the Plaza restaurant, it was at a slight angle, but turned out to be a great viewing spot for both MM&Y and Wishes.

It was the first night of the Valentine’s version of MM&Y and I was so excited to see it! It was such a great show! The floating lanterns from Tangled was definitely one of the best additions. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of it or Wishes, but I did videotape them both. Hopefully I will have them uploaded to Youtube soon and I will post the link so if you would like to see it you can.

When Wishes was over, we shopped through the Emporium to let some of the crowd file out.

We headed out towards the bus for POFQ, we were on side A of the buses for the first time!

There wasn’t that bad of a line for the bus (nothing compared to what we’ve waited for POP) but it was still standing room only for the most part, which I didn’t mind at all.

We got back and we watched a little bit of Elliot performing at the Scat Cat’s club in the lobby, he was really good!

After that it was nighty night time because I had my interview the next day!!!

Luckily, they hadn’t opened yet so I chatted on my cell…most likely to Courtney (enchanted_belle) or I was posting on Twitter haha

Most likely chatting with me we tend to do that a lot I've noticed! haha

I had one thing on my mind…..The Tower of Terror!!! If I could marry a ride, this would definitely be the one Be prepared for the many pictures that will ensue. Words cannot do it justice.

Yes, yes you should have. It's ok, I didn't buy it either.

After Star Tours we headed on along Commissary Lane where I saw this great billboard that changed the closer you walked to it, first it showed the Evil Queen, then it turned to Rumple the closer you walked to it! I thought it was awesome!

I'm still so jealous of this. I wish it was there for us!

For drinks I had a white wine Sangria (I love me a sangria! But I don’t like straight up wine..weird I know)

The only wine I like is Asti lol. It's bubbly!

Aww...I miss Port Orleans now. :lol: Loved all the detail shots you took around the French Quarter and it reminded me of so many things I forgot to take pictures of. Ha!

You got to see the NASCAR drivers practice? That is so awesome!! And how cool Brad was tweeting you back!

I love Once Upon a Time by the way. Such a great show. I kind of feel like Rumple has become like some of the Lost characters. When you first met them, you thought they were horrible people. Then when you saw their back story, you realized you had misjudged them.

Rumple is creepy to the max. But every time you learn more about his back story, you like him more.

Loving your TR, we stayed at POFQ in May 2011, definitely a favorite of ours and we'll stay there again. So cool you got to see NASCAR, I love me some Kyle Busch...:animwink: Tower of Terror is my favorite as well and Once Upon A Time, don't even get me started on that...I'm so hooked, I love it.

Can't wait to hear more!

I definitely see what you mean about Rumple. His character has so much depth to him, I just love it. He's good, but a little evil at the same time. This show is always surprising me every time. I love his laugh (even though it's super creepy) and how he says deary all the time. It's just great.

And thank you so much!!! POFQ is beautiful!!!!! The bounceback offer we had really helped alot with being able to stay there in September. Maybe look for one when you go in April (you're staying on property for a few days right?) Maybe you'll have one and it can help you out!

haha no worries we all have our favorites My driver is actually Carl Edwards, but I've always liked Brad alot especially in the beginning when he was only driving in the Nationwide Series, but after he wrecked Carl last season I wasn't a huge fan of him haha he wrecked my guy! He did start to grow on me again after I heard his speech on the NASCAR Banquet in December, and now I love him you will see in the next post haha.

Thursday February 2-Interview Day!

This morning was the most important day on this trip because it was interview day!!!

We woke up and went to have breakfast down in the food court. Sorry, no pictures of breakfast (I forgot) but it wasn’t anything special. I had a croissant sandwich while my mom had the Bounty Platter.

We went back to the room and had some time to spare before my interview at 11:00, so we walked around the resort and took pictures.
