Sorry about the delay, my comp crashed!

Mystery
in
Disney World

On March 1, Pirates of the Caribbean was ready, with plans for a surprise "last time" ride for V.I.P.s (on March 2), for it's big refurbishment. As the V.I.P.s were being escorted out of the ride, a Cast Member overheard one say: "I thought they weren't starting the refurb until tomorrow. Either way, it's a shame that dog's gone." The Cast Member ran to the scene where, indeed, the dog was gone! Magic Kingdom Security and the local detectives were called to the ride, which was then closed and roped off. After a search of the area, the detectives released a list of suspects.

Interruption? – A 20 year old college student who took a semester off from the University of Washington to work as a Cast Member at his favorite ride at Walt Disney World, the Pirates of the Caribbean. After working through the training and settling in at his new job as a ride controller he found out that the ride was going down for rehab and he would be moved over to It's A Small World. He was documented as being furious with management and would probably do anything to cause a disruption for the new refurbishment.

Pluto77 – A 28 year old Cast Member who was working as the Pirates of the Caribbean ride controller at the time of the incident, and who reported the missing dog animatronic. He has worked all of the dark rides at Walt Disney World over the last 4 years and continues to somehow miss the promotion to upper management that he sees is due him. This upcoming refurbishment may be his chance to take something for himself to give him some sort of accomplishment for his work.
<O:p</O:p
Dandaman – A 45 year old stock holder in Disney who had a special invitation to this surprise ride and total access to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride for the refurbishment. Being that he has so much stock in the company would anyone notice if he took a piece of the famed ride for his own!
<O:p</O:p
SIR90210 – A 42 year old former Imagineer at Walt Disney World who put his last two years of work into the ideas behind the current Pirates of the Caribbean refurbishment. When new management came aboard he was laid off, just before the refurbishment was to start. What better way to get back at his former employer than to wreck the special VIP ride.
<O:p</O:p
KrazyKemp – A 32 year old construction worker who was offered a bonus for working the Pirates of the Caribbean refurbishment after other workers admitted being afraid to work the ride with the famed ghost "George" who has been known to become angry with any changes to the ride. Could he of stolen the dog to keep the ghost stories continuing and to gain an extra buck!

SilentWindODoom - A 22 year old Pirates of the Caribbean fan, who thinks the ride is perfect the way it is. He knows everything about it, and when the news of a refurbishment reached his ears, he was steaming at them. "What's worked for almost 50 years doesn't need a change", he was reported saying. Anger can make you do anything, even steal a dog.

Joanna71985 - A 35 year old Imagineer who worked with SIR90210 on the Pirates of the Caribbean refurbishment ideas. Even though she wasn't laid off, she still thinks it isn't fair that her good friend was. If she decided to take justice into her own hands, it's not going to be pretty. Would she steal dog or would she just write an angry letter to the management?

nighttimewisher - A 25 year old investigative journalist who loves a juicy story. He was added to the suspect list the day after the crime had been discovered, given his.........prior accusations. As it turns out, he has been creating, and sometimes been the cause of, stories to write in his magazine. Which means he could have stolen the dog just to get a juicy story.

Siege898 - An 18 year old college guy who loves a good dare. Give him a dare, he'll do it! He's been dared to swear, dared to "kiss the girl", and has now been dared to grab something from Pirates of the Caribbean. He was reported as being uncomfortable with this particular dare, because of his love for Disney. But he doesn't want to become a sap on his dare reputation.

Connor002 - A 30 year old Disney Collector who has collected just about everything Disney has come out with. He has even collected things from the parks themselves. All he needs is something from Walt Disney World. Pirates of the Caribbean is the one ride that really holds something worthy of a true Disney Collector......in his eyes at least.

New2WDW and I were two of the detectives on the scene and we've been put in charge of public relations. It's our job to keep you all informed of the situation, and to hear your opinion on the crime.

If you have any questions, please post them in this thread.

It wasn't me! Why would I wreck something that I'm working on? I love POTC. Besides, I wasn't here that day. I was in CA at Disneyland getting ideas from their rides.

There's no way it's me. Being in construction, I know what it is like to have something that you built defamed or stolen. After you put so much effort into building it...

I love working for Disney, and to have someone steal such a treasured piece of Disney history...it's just shocking what people will do.

On Duty!

Checking in, FantasmicKid! SIR! I see that the alibis are coming in and I will be looking them over closely! :lookaroun

Once all alibis are in then we can start looking over the evidence. Let me remind you all, that you are under suspicion and that you are not to leave the state (whichever state you may be in), steal nothing else until we figure out who stole this dog and be kind to your fellow suspect-friends (but if you want to point out their guilt go ahead)

Detective "New" as in I knew it was you!

Seeing as how I'm a Disney stockholder, there's no reason why I would want to sabotage a potentially important piece of an even more traditionally important ride. Being that I had total access to the attraction, I would not only not want to steal anything from the company I invest in, but hope to see to it that others wouldn't, as well.

Alibi

Me? Steal a dog? The fools at Disney who fired me aren't worth the aggravation. I was at Universal Studios Florida planning for the Apollo 13 ride that will blow Mission: Space out of the water. The should never have put me on the M:S team, the idiots.

What are the outrageous accusations that i *create* stories to go in my column! I work hard to *find* stories that exist - and believe me there are enuf out there!

And anyway I was busy watching the new X men trailer over and over again that day. I *need* to find something new in there...well look at that...i must call it in!
