Now instead of mountain views behind showcase, we can see a few of those classy SkyLiner towers and buckets. Too bad they didn't paint the towers "go away green" like the new buildings in the back of DHS.

"Long" term it’s proposed for a resort. How long long is I don’t know.
Ah, I think I remember you mentioning south of the American Adventure pavilion once as a possible location, no? It was before I started cataloguing the rumors, so, I don't have that one on the list.

Couldn't find your post about a resort behind American Adventure, but I did find this cryptic nugget... :)

Future planning.

Well...it’s a matter of personal choice. My choice is - foibles aside - I like the overbuilt and comparatively underpriced 1995-2000 period. The height of the compound.

Or it can run like Lockheed, Exxon mobile, or JP Morgan chase...by “numbers”

Tough call 😜

I was a big #savedisney guy back in the day. (Pre hashtag days of course) I even had a bumper sticker. Looking back 20 years later, I’d hve Eisner back in a heartbeat.

Yeah - about five years ago, we stayed at the Contemporary. One morning as we were riding down on the elevator, guess who got on to join us? None other than Mr. Eisner and what I assume are his grandkids. There were so many things I wanted to say - but I decided to go the non-psycho route: I just smiled and nodded my head.

If they know that there are plans to build something on this space then it makes sense to clear it now before the gondolas are running. A staging area followed by a giant Volcano would be great though

These will not happen bc we, the public, do not want them. We as a whole are fatter, lazier, and less mobile. We want to walk out of our room, take the elevator down, and have access to food courts, restaurants, shops, pools, and transportation. We don’t want to walk through manicured gardens over a bridge through an island to our destination.😏

It’s sad. I mean I love sprawling Resorts. But a big complaint you often read is how ‘far’ from everything many vacationers are.

Disney is answering that concern with tower structures. And I hate it.

i think there is a middle ground of truth. i have stayed at both of the largest sprawling resorts and after a LONG day in the parks it sucks that you have a hike to the main food court/store etc. but i did very much like the open air and gardens laid out throughout. with that being said i have been in some deluxe resorts and you forget about those gardens real quick.

There is a “middle ground”...unfortunately it’s to build mundane looking towers WITHOUT anything close to four seasons style amenities. At high cost...I hope I’m wrong...but it’s not looking good based on their DVC retrofits.

More to follow....
