I was not sent anything (not even an e-mail) but it appears my family will be part of the testing in late August. We are staying at Pop and on My Disney Experience I was able to make Fasspass+ reservations and it says that an order of MagicBands will be shipped to my house or resort hotel in the near future.

I'm a passholder and my AP and reservation are linked but I'm getting the pop-up that says I am not in a test. Maybe I'll get something later. My trip isn't until November.

The only testing happening right now is August. All other months are normal if things changes you'll most likely be emailed they'll be doing MyMagic+ testing.

You won't get an email till 2 weeks prior of your trip ordering MagicBands and making FP+ before the letter doesn't hurt anything. Basically the email only let's those know who haven't done anything for the test they can join in. Disney actually sent out my letter today via UPS confirming I've been chosen for MyMagic+ testing I've officially hit two weeks today!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering do you know if you can still get regular fasspasses during the testing if you were selected for the test?

Right now the guest test is scheduled for reservations checking in between August 2nd and 31st at Pop Century, Animal Kingdom Lodge (non-DVC), Yacht Club & Contemptary (non-DVC). Seep rate years are underway for CMs, DVC members, etc. at various resorts.

This is taken from the FastPass+ FAQ on the MDX iPad application. For some reason, this question is not listed on the Disney website.

Q. I am eligible for FastPass+, but I did not request FastPass+ selections in advance. When I arrive at the theme park, can I still get regular FASTPASS tickets?

A. No. If you are eligible for FastPass+ and you used a Paperless Ticket linked to your MagicBand or Key to the World Card to enter the theme park, you are not able to use the regular FASTPASS service. However, if FastPass+ attraction arrival window times are still available, you can request your FastPass+ selections on your Internet accessible movile phone when you arrive at the park using the My Disney Experience app.

If you did not use a Paperless Ticket linked to your MagicBand or Key to the World Card and instead used a physical ticket to enter the park, you can use the standard FASTPASS system. Proceed to the attraction's FASTPASS distribution area and insert your physical theme park admission ticket. If arrival windows are still available, you can select a FASTPASS ticket with a printed return time. Return to the attraction when it is your time to experience it.

So it looks like if you have a physical ticket, you should still be able to use regular fastpass. But if you bought a package or linked a voucher to your account before receiving a physical ticket, you won't be able to use it.

and how do they go about this for Annual Passholders?

Right now, if you are staying at a test resort and have linked your reservation and AP to the MDX site, you will get a MagicBand and be eligible for FastPass+ starting on your check in date.

For APs, it looks like the end of the FastPass+ eligibility isn't related to your check out date, you can continue to reserve FP+ anytime after your check-in dates until 60 days from the todays date.

So confused. Is the testing restricted to CM's and AP's for now?

We are booked at POP 09/23/13 - 10/02/13.
I have linked my reservation number and all ADR's to my DMX account.
In a nutshell - am I likely to be chosen to test MM+? Will we be receiving bands? Is there any way to increase/reduce my chance of being selected?

Sorry if this has been answered, but when you follow every thread in the Rumours section, your head starts to swim.

As of right now, the test is only until the end of August so you will not be chosen to use MM+ or get the magic bands. If the test continues or another test is put into place during the time of your stay you could be a candidate for being selected.

There is no way to increase or decrease your chances of being selected. It's determined by the MM+ team and those who are chosen are done so for various reasons depending on what information they are trying to get out of that particular test.

Hope that answers your questions!

How will this work for those that have AP's, yet live only 2 hours away where we never stay in hotels? Basically, for those of us that like to take spontaneous 1 day trips to Disney, will we get to have a Magic Band, or participate in Fastpass+ ?

Once this rolls out to everyone, you should be able to get a MagicBand. Right now it is limited to certain resort guests for testing. You should be able to participate in FP+ just like everyone else. You should be able to reserve FP+ up to 60 days in advance, or reserve day of passes. There has been speculation here that a certain amount of FP+ slots will be saved for same day reservations.

This is all subject to change as they continue testing. You should keep an eye on the FAQ's and Terms & Conditions on the main Disney site, as these pages have been changed on a regular basis to reflect changes in the FP+ program.

Join me, together we can rule the galaxy.
We're going 12/7-12/12 and were never able to get a BOG reservation despite being on the phone, tablet and laptop exactly 180 days in advance at 6 and 7am every day for that week.
We're able to get one for Christmas eve and New Years eve the morning of our 180 day window but had to be up at the crack of dawn to get them.

New question time, if I want to get a certain color of MagicBand for my own AP which expires in November {11 November 2012 is when we got them} and I go directly to the Guest Services station either at my resort or at Downtown Disney {or is it Disney Springs ?} Can I get my own personal color or am I locked with slate gray ? Because personally and honestly I was hoping to ge a nice disney red shade for my MagicBand. But something tells me I'll need to get it now and not when I get to the hotel on the 19th August ?

If I have to reserve it now, how do I go about it ? Is there a step by step guide ? Or amy I going to be stuck with the RFID card like the KttW cards ?

In order to get a MagicBand now you must be staying at a test resort during August. If you are you should be able to log In to MyDisneyExperience.com and have the option to customize your bands it's located to the right of the main page. In order to get a color band you have to order them online Disney World only issues standard Gray MagicBands at resorts unless your bands were shipped there. As long as your AP is linked online your MagicBand will have that AP programmed Into it so during your stay you can even enter with the band without the need of the AP card. Hoped some of this info helped :).

The only problem is, the resort I am staying at during my stay is POR, 19-27 August this year. That's why I ask in terms of colors. Slate gray is a bit bland upon arrival if you ask me. I may have to ask my mother for my AP barcode number so I can try and get the color I want. How many days in advance can I request to have it shipped as part of my AP to have it ready at my resort ?

It's available as soon as the reservation is linked on MDE and the MagicBands are shipped to your home it's only shipped to your resort if it's to close to arrival or you live outside the US. I should mention tho the resort your staying at is not testing the MagicBands during the August test.

Its an AP, that's all that would be on there. Or is that not yet ready and I'll have to just use the RFID keycard for that instead ? I know it is not one of the resorts for full on MM+ testing, but it is a AP, doesn't that count ? The problem is, if it is shipped to my parents home, we leave there on the 14th to fly down from The D up in MI. I wont have it in time. I mean I'd love to be a part of the testing and all. but honestly, it seems a nice suvienor to keep. I still got my one day park ticket from 1989 in my wallet, right next to my room key from this past january. Shows the advances in technology I guess.

But still its an AP, nothing more, not a full on KttW card or anything... yet. Does that matter ? I mean I can understand getting the RFID card, but honestly I want to get a red MagicBand personally. Even just for the AP on it. I take it during my stay I wont be getting it even if I link on MDE with my AP ?

That's correct the MagicBands are only being tested and issued to those that are only in the tests. In the future you'll be able to get a MagicBand for your AP. For now you'll just continue to get a Key To World Card and use your normal AP card to get in the park.
