Mustard or Ketchup on a hot dog?

This thread really brings the lols :ROFLOL: it's funny how everyone stands up for their wiener...Hehe.
I absolutely agree with OP, ketchup on a hot dog seriously grosses me out and upsets me. I have learned to deal with it a little better since I have kiddos but even they are slowly converting to mustard. I may have to check out this Chicago style business you speak of, making me rumbly in the tumbly!

I love spicy mustard and raw onions, throw some kraut on there sometimes. Oh yeah.
I had that taco dog at the Lunching Pad and loved it! Isn't there somewhere in MK offering the Chicago dog somewhere?
Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog!

There's only 1 true kind of hot dog. Italian style hot dog. Grilled pepper and onions with deep fried potato slices/cubes/wedges. Served on pizza bread pocket. Condiments vary from, mustard, ketchup or tomato sauce. My preference is mustard and ketchup.

Gasp! Ketchup? Really? Oh my.

Here is a proper way to have a hot dog. This is New England Style, though really mostly Connecticut.

Hot dog itself is deep friend, then turned on the grill until crisp. Spicy brown mustard, relish, sauerkraut and bacon. Martha Stewart even agrees!

First weiner recipe in this thread that's actually made me a little sad it's not right in front of me. That looks (and sounds) ridiculously good. :(

No ketchup! No way, mustard, onions, relish or a pickle with celery salt on a warm poppy seed bun ala Portillo's but is absolutely has to be a Vienna Beef hot dog. There is no substitute.:slurp:

Here is another proper hot dog. This is New York Style.

This hot dogs are grilled (never boiled! only tourists eat dirty water dogs!) and served with spicy mustard, sauteed "NY Onions" no other way to describe them, and of course, sauerkraut. It is served with a cold whipped papaya concoction of a drink. yum

Now I'm hungry!:D

I almost put my hand through my monitor for that first picture, I gotta try that.

Jimmy Thick-Looks like I picked the wrong time to quit eating hot dogs...

I like Mt. Olive brand "Hot Dog Relish," which is essentially regular pickle relish with mustard already stirred in. Delicious.

I agree about ketchup. That belongs on the French fries!

Mustard = hot dogs. Ketchup = French fries.
Never the twain shall meet!

[And, yes, I do see an alarming number of never-grown-up adults putting ketchup on their hot dogs. Sad. ;-) ]

I'm pretty damn flexible.

But its mostly Both Mustard and ketchup for me. I also like melted cheese sauce on mine

Kraut and yellow mustard are also another fave.

Hot Dogs and beans cassarole I load up with yellow mustard

Brautwurst is just mustard, same with Polska Kielbasa.

Out!

Now that's a new one on me. If ketchup doesn't work on spuds, then what is there left to put it on??

(And what are your fry condiments of choice, in case I want to try them?) :D
The trash would be the first place I put ketchup. I simply hate the stuff. My go to condiment for fries is honey mustard followed by a creamy chipotle sauce.

Another thing for fires is Red Robin seasoning, no ketchup needed.

Jimmy Thick-Red Robin...YUM!!!

Ketchup. = :hurl:

Hollandaise sauce... or mayo... but not much... a little bit goes a looong way [edit: and dont pour it on... you dip them].

But mostly just salt... maybe a little pepper or cajun seasoning.

But yeah no... no ketchup.
