Muppetvision Refurb Announced

Jim Henson is dead. They'd never be able to recreate it to it's same greatness.

lol

I think this is the fan talking in you. Obviously they can redo the video and keep Jim Henson's charm. It's not like he's physically in the video and his hard work would not be lost. ;)

Uhhhhhh...listen to the Muppets from when he was around and then listen to them now, and then tell me if you feel the same way.

I have and I feel the same way. Just like the fab 6's voice changes.

It doesn't bother me whatsoever.

Definitely needs some TLC, when I was there in January, the effects like the bubbles and fireworks were only working on one side of the theatre.

Hopefully Philarmagic will go Digital 3D too, it's always looked a little blurry to me.

Extremely excited for the digital HD - the film is looking really bad these days.

I, too, hope its only minor changes to the pre-show. As is, its almost better than the actual attraction, and definitely funnier.

I really hope it reopens on time- I leave WDW the evening of the 15th and this would be a wonderful way to end the trip. Also, it would be really cool to check it out its' first day back. Muppets Rule! :sohappy:

I'd really prefer they not mess with the original film, just because it was the last project Jim worked on. And I'm someone who's fine with the "Wrong sounding Muppets". Preshow on the other hand doesn't matter quite as much, seeing as it didn't really use any of Jim's characters.

Steve Whitmire has been a good Kermit and Eric Jacobson has done a surprisingly good job taking over for Frank Oz while he focuses on his directorial pursuits.

Wasn't there something about a Mobile Electric Mayhem Band and the return of the Muppet Mobile Lab? What ever happened to those?

I updated the Rumors thread with the dates.

My assumption is that this will include the new pre-show and updating the projection to Disney Digital 3D.

Also, random question, did they edit out the portion of the show where Waldo squeals his tires at the edge of the screen? I know they got rid of the effect, but I think the part was cut out as well.

The Electric Mayhem Band was mentioned at D23 as a living character initiative thing, I hope that will be ready when Muppetvision reopens, as well as the Whatnot Lab.

Here's hoping that this is the launching point of the Muppets, going into The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made. I want to see them dust off the plans for The Muppet Movie Ride.
