Can't wait to see all these new effects in June. :D I was pretty upset to see so many missing in December. Compared to 2006 and previous years, nothing was working.

Yeah, I don't think Fozzie's squirting water effect has worked in over a decade. I've never felt it on any of my recent experiences.

I hope they add a few new things, like maybe a pie scent for Fozzie's floating pie, and things like that.

I think you're aiming too high if you're hoping for new in theater effects. It's not nearly long enough for that.

And I've never not had Fozzie's flower work.

In recent memory, I think they also moved Waldo away from the left edge of the screen in addition to removing the mist/smoke effect.

Nah, it's still the same. Watch carefully, even the smoke spotlight comes on for it,

^This is one effect that always works but is oft spoken of NOT working. It comes down to knowing your 3-D effects. See, nowadays your water effect is delivered personally via an effects vent built into the back of each seat and row. But Muppet Vision doesn't have that. Yet, Muppet Vision has the first Water effect for a 3-D show. How'd they do it?

Next time you're at Muppets, when you hear Fozzie start to talk about Cheap 3-D tricks, look up at the roof. Watch carefully and out of nowhere you'll see a TORRENT of Water falling from the roof, JUST as Fozzie is talking about the effect. You'd think the water dropped too early, but sure enough, as soon as the on screen action looks like it's spraying, you'll start to feel the water that fell from the sky moments ago. It's an incredibly timed and awesome sight to see, so much water falling at once, but the only downside to this effect compared to how they do it now, is that even with all that water, it doesn't necessarily reach every seat, every time. Mostly it does, but sometimes the water doesn't reach your particular seat. And since the water's so dispersed by the time it reaches the floor, the water has spread out and it's harder to see compared to say, HISTA's sneeze. It's really clever.

Well. Aren't you just a fountain of fun facts today. Thanks for the incite, that's pretty cool. I always just assumed the water jets were REALLY well hidden in the back of the seats. Haha.

I too am a little apprehensive of what they may change with the preshow. To me, this already is one of the best, if not the best preshow on property and I really think it would be a mistake almost to change it drastically.

Guess we'll be seeing here soon...

Go watch the Youtube videos of the muppets they have released recently. They are very well done, and haven't lost their touch. I agree, the original preshow is amazing - funny and VERY clever use of all the monitors. I honestly hope they never lose this preshow - maybe mix it with some new gags or bring out this show from time to time. The only complain I have with the preshow is the old televisions themselves - couldn't Disney pony up for a new LCD? I imagine that maybe this is why they are filming a new show - so as to make it in HD and use some new fx and technology that wasn't available back when Jim Henson was filming this.

In fact, the saddest thing of any changes to this show (preshow or otherwise) is this was one of Jim Henson's last projects.

The Muppets are very near and dear to my heart and all I can say is I am VERY worried. In my opinion everything they have done with the muppets has been mediocre at best. Its not all been bad but nothing they have done is near as good as anything in muppetvision. My fingers are crossed and Im hoping for the best.

If they change the pre-show, then the voices will not match the real show... so I don't think any major changes to it will be done.
