Wow. I actually got photos of a first-run parade. I thought it'd been running for at least a week when I saw it on Thursday!

It was awesome to see a new parade on my birthday, especially with the parade float "gifts"... but if I'm not mistaken, they ran it every half-hour for at least three times (that I saw). A little excessive, no? Also maybe a little too peppy for my tastes, but it's a nice addition nonetheless.

It looks just okay. I like the stilt walkers and the performers and the character interaction with the crowd. Definately brings some much needed energy to the MK.

Don't like the gaudy floats and the lame DJ. I'd like somthing similar to this show minus the party theme stick around in the future.

Largely harmless foamhead entertainment.

I didn't hate it, but was bothered by how bad the voices of the characters were ... Genie, Sebastian and Lumiere were just so waaaaay off I found them distracting.

Overall, I liked the energy of the thing.

But I'd much rather watch the acrobats who were performing in the waiting area for Reflections of China or the Mariachis performing outside Mexico at EPCOT ... real live entertainers ... not foamheads.

We saw the parade on the 13th and really liked it. DD (9) LOVED it. She liked trying to get the dance down and loved the interaction. Whenever they would point or look at her - she felt really special. I also like the fact that people don't have to line up for the show in advance. Here are some pics I took:

I saw it this week and was expecting the worst.

However, I had a fabulous time! All those people knocking it need to remember that it replaced the Family Fun Day parade. This show is leaps and bounds better than that lame, low-energy debacle. This was upbeat, fun, and infectious. It definitely gave the park a much needed energy boost. People walking down the street were stopping and enjoying it. The only thing that either needs to go or be re-imagined is the giant conga line. While it's a nice idea to have a huge conga line around the hub, in practice, it appeared to be a parent's worst nightmare. There was a lot of confusion, and kids could easily be separated/ lost from their parents. Other than that, GREAT job!!

I was at the cast preview of Move it, Shake it and I didn't think it was horrible, I'm just not its targeted audience. But this, plus Celebrate Dreams Come True concern me in the direction Disney is shifting its entertainment focus.
When you get ready to watch a Disney-show (or parade) the expectation is to see your favorite Disney characters. Not gay bois in tight pants. Its almost like Disney has an abundance of effeminate, skinny men and girls who look good in wigs that they don't know what to do with them so they make them the center of their new shows.
I know seeing the boys swish their way through a production has been around since Walt Disney World opened but I think the entertainment division needs to refocus on what people expect from the Disney shows. More characters and less twirling.

But, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip, Dale, Genie, Lumiere, Sebastian, Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Woody, Jessie, and the Mad Hatter are all a part of the show as well. There are plenty of characters in this one, and "the gay bois" as you refer to them don't have a very prominent role. The only person who really does a lot of speaking is the Emcee guy, whose float stops in front of the castle.

wouldnt it be better, and more crowd pleasing and exciting if it were , mickey, minnie, donald and goofy that popped up from the presents?, who really cares (and what youngseter knows) about genie, and the mad hatter any more? yes they could be on floats.but it seems the whole dance party is built around these presents opening and its minor characters from really old films, with really bad voices.why not stickk with the fab four, or make it really current, with wall-e, etc popping up.some not some spare characters found at the back of the closet

Call me crazy but I have no problem with cute skinny girls in wigs dancing in front of me.
