Everybody has their favorite defunct attraction. In fact, I'd say its one of the most talked about topics on these boards.

This raises the question, which attraction replacement was the most heinous, the most offensive, the most perplexedly disappointing? The one that left you most dumb-founded as to why they would replace such a classic attraction for this new-found abomination.

Listed are the majority of such attractions and their counter-parts. I also included an "other" option if I forgot one, or if somebody has a different choice.

(I'm not saying I find every one of these attractions offensive, just going with the ones most frequently mentioned)

The Timekeeper was to me a wonderful show and one of my all time favorites. MILF is ok in my opinion but I won't be sad when it one day is replaced.

20K was long gone before the playground

Yes, but DL showed that you can revive the subs even after they sit idle for many years.

Not really missing the subs, looking forward to the FL upgrade, but Pooh playground 'replacing' the lagoon is the biggest slap in the face of all the things listed above. Second biggest is the original JIYI to the joke that replaced it. Still miss it.

While DL did in fact revive the subs, at WDW the entire area had been removed prior to the build of anything else, so I don't consider the presence of Pooh to be a replacement.

Stitch has my vote...what an aberration!

I voted for JII. The original ride was a timeless classic like POTC or HM, and they gutted it and shoved in a dumbed-down replacement that everyone hated for no other reason than to make it cheaper.

Even Disney realizes they made a mistake; you can find plenty of Figment merchandise at EPCOT, and even some Dreamfinder merchandise, but there's no Dr. Nigel Channing merchandise.

That's true, Pooh didn't intentionally take over the plot, but I still feel as if the subs were still salvageable

Perhaps I should have put "A Whole Lot of Nothing for 20,000 Leagues"

I voted for Pooh's Playful Spot replacing 20,000 Leagues, but I'd rather vote for some of the changes TDO made to their holiday lineups....

I voted WoM to Test Track. The ride change aside (and it is a terrible change, imo), the new architecture (the scaffolding) is the biggest eyesore in any Disney Park. It was the point where WDI threw up their hands and said "Lalalallalalala ... Future World does not have a cohesive architectural theme .... no thought was ever put into Future World's look ... we can't hear you ... lalalalalala."

It was a tough choice for me, but I had to go with Under New Management... While I do miss the original, I'm all for change... this was just a horrible choice, IMO.

I agree. The only saving grace for me is if you wait near the exit (after most everyone has left and listen to Yago's diatribe...some pretty funny (and off-color for Disney) lines.

Imagination. WoM and Horizons are very close, but the replacement of Imagination was disgusting and continues to be disgusting. That ride was one of THE best rides in all of WDW and they destroyed it. :fork:

They really dropped the ball in EPCOT.

I voted for 20K because IMO the replacement, don't care how many years later it came to be, was the biggest downgrade of an attraction I have ever seen.

First of all, 20K shouldn't be on this list. Pooh was out on the empty spot where the lagoon once sat years after it was filled in.

As for the poll, it has to be JII. A Haunted Mansion level dark ride replaced by a Fantasyland level one.
