The part that really confuses me is why they thought the existing tiles couldn’t be salvaged. Sure, there were patches of damage, but well-made ceramics (which those were) are extremely hardy, capable of being maintained for literally centuries even outdoors.

How on earth could a "reskin" achieve this? They'd have to knock down the minaret and massive archway to even begin to untether the pavilion from Morocco. The architecture is not generic.

That’s nice, at least. It’s been a glorified festival booth for awhile. They pulled the hours listing online with F&G ending for some reason.
Unless FAM is just lying and claiming to be doing repairs or like-for-like replacement, then Walt Disney Imagineering is still involved. It’s also not surprising when one looks at things like the France Pavilion expansion. Frankly, this is perfectly in line with the amount of effort many here say Disney should put into authenticity.
But who is going to laugh at his Poly Inn pics?
